Been traveling to Duluth since the 80s, absolutely love the Gunflint Trail. Here is Loon Lake. Great lakes is my second choice but that is contingent on being remote and I am still 100% on site. So it requires me getting a promotion.

Wednesday this showed up on my 10 years ago this day feed

That is Gunflint Lake dead ahead, from the center North is Canada. Loon Lake of course is just to my right on the other side of the ridge. Cabin is on Popular Lake around a mile North of Trail Center.

I'm going to leave it as is, it's another one of those system things and I'll leave it at that. I'll let some air out of the tires like I have done in the past when the pavement ends and washboards start.

As a DD I put some miles on it. Today drove more than 150 miles over to Wi. and back for my Saturday winter 5 stand league birds. The GX was a man among giants LOL.

2500's and 350's with a lot of diesels left running because it was just above zero. But the GX held its own. Well in the parking lot anyhow, a couple of guys asked me about it.

Tomorrow shooting heated 5 stand 90 miles away in the other direction in central Mn. Then having brunch with a friend and his wife at the clubhouse restaurant appropriately named Triggers. Will be stopping at HyVee in the morning on the way out to use my $1.35 in fuel savers discount to top off.

Thanks for correcting me. Forgot about that, albeit, personally never needed it either. But at least it's there for those who do!

It's not really a need but when you have it and use it, it makes those low speed rides a little smoother.

Having been stationed in Mayport and now having a Hospital in JAX that I support from Mn. for the last 21 years going with that is not Jacksonville LOL.

Hit eight B roads today, this one by St Charles, Iowa, is getting to be legitimately a bit of a challenge. Had to work the steering a bit to get it to pop up the ledge, and try to keep it from hopping.

That time of year. The snows are destroying the arctic tundra especially around Hudson Bay and also do massive crop damage across the Midwest. Can shoot them right now in most places and it is encouraged, with either no or high limits. Has been that way since the 90's but their population keeps exploding. After all what you are going to do with a pickup bed full of light geese? If you have ever eaten one then you know why most don't target them.

In the fall they come down in flocks of thousands through SD. That isn't all white snow in that field

They are beneficial here, as they only eat leftover crops and then drop fertilizer, since there isn't anything in the fields in Iowa in winter.

My benevolence towards agriculture had also waned, as the are they primary public land blocker in Iowa, and the small farms are all but gone with what land prices are at.

A minimum maintenance farm road open to the public. C is considered private property and is trespass, even though all roads are on public lands. They are analogous to forest roads but have their own issues.

I try to find orphaned sections that don't get maintained at all, those can be quite fun. Closest thing to proper trails outside of strip mines in Iowa.
