With straight axles , diff clearance will generally always be a product of tire height.
Really its just the front I usually have problems with. Get a good fuel tank skid that can support the weight of the truck.

After getting my fuel tank skid if have had way less issues with getting hung up on my axle.

Went into limp mode yesterday (it says reduced engine power lol) and threw a code/check engine light. P2121 - have a feeling it's related to the Pedal Commander so I took it off and disconnected the battery to reset. CEL went away. I should probably do another scan to see if it's still in there but does anyone know if a P2121 is one of those codes you can clear and it's permanently gone? Or is it residual and stays even after you clear it?

I think I got that one time pressing skinny pedal while powering on. I disconnected PC and it went away after a drive cycle.

Project I/P. Update soon.

Anybody replace the blank switch above the center diff lock button with a USB port? I know it's the "small" size that Toyota uses but would appreciate any links to what people are using in that space.
I put one so I could easily plug in to the beatsonic.

My Odyssey started dying after five years, so I’m trying the X2 from Batteries Plus this time. Anyone have experience with them?

I thought they were Odysseys. Did you ever trickle charge your Odyssey?
Don't know their origin.
I did, I've got the Odyssey 20amp charger. Five west coast summers and mountain winters I call a success. Became weaker to start and didn't respond to charging... figured with winter approaching it was time.

I have a little 1.5 amp trickle charger. The smallest I could find for topping it up slowly.

So much for my rule of never saying never. But I've said in 51 years of off roading starting with running a trapline in a rig I've never wanted to winch my way forward into whatever I was stuck in and don't need a front mounted winch I've always wanted to pull from the rear. Pulling others out being the exception but I always run solo.

Not the GX, that will come over the next coming weeks from time to time. Got to the cabin Wednesday and Thursday afternoon hit one of my favorite spots in the Polaris Trail Boss. It comes with a factory winch on the front. Beavers built a dam right on the road, it is just a National Forest Road that always cracks me up when someone says it is just a forest road. Fresh dam must have been built this summer it wasn't there last year. Took it across going in a bit sketchy but doable. Coming back across it part of the dam gave out under me toward the water side.

Took over an hour but was able to pull it out going forward which is the only way out going back

And thank goodness for all the recovery gear that I carry including couple hundred feet of cable and straps. Water was coming in under the door and in the back on the water side and it was close to rolling so first thing I did was get the dog out of the crate. He was happy to play in the mud.

Was rewarded back in there with a rare copper phase grouse both tail and ruff

Almost half way to possession limit with a week and a half to go so stayed around the cabin last night and taking today off. Grilled a couple pound and a half ribeye's with a little apple wood smoke for supper. Grill grates and grilling gear go with me everywhere

That was closer than I prefer, that feeling in your gut when you start sliding and sinking. But life is good and can't get much better. And still on the right side of the dirt.

Are you saying you got a measly 5 years out of an odyssey battery? I get the same out of a duralast platinum agm, similar on the dura last gold, and right now im on a Napa Legend thats 8 years old. Got over 10 our of my last Yellow top (not the new Mexican kind). Best battery I've ever seen was a stock AC delco from 1990, lasted until 2003. These new batteries are garbage. Im going to be sick when my stock Made in Japan Panasonic dies.

Thanks?

Im just saying, for what the Odyssey costs it should be lasting a lot longer than other cheaper options. In general, todays batteries SUCK. And its due to nothing more than driving profits.
Of course things could always be better. Typical battery got me 3 years, AGM, 5.
The aggregated cost over five years amounts to $72 per year. In CA that’s not even a tank of gas.

I'm going on 3 years with my Optima red top and it's healthy, but I know they are not made like they used to so I'm a little torn on what to replace it with. Does anyone in Japan still make batteries? I would pay the extra shipping cost to get one from a country that still believes in quality workmanship. I don't trust this Optima for another year, if I get 5 out of it that's is amazing.

Keep us informed with what you go with. I have put 65k miles on my Odyssey 24. Had it 3.5 years and in a pretty brutal environment for batteries in the cold side.
