I don't see any path where 8-10% inflation and $7 gas don't impact sales soon. 7th highest May is just above middle of the pack.

There were 3 new GX460's and 1 used one for sell at Lexus Of Cerritos this weekend. The 2022 Silver/Grey one has been sitting on the lot for over a month now. Same deal at Newport Lexus. The GX460 is a slow seller. Lots of RX350's available and they seem to be the most popular as that's what the customers are flocking to.

My wife and I are not "needing" a vehicle and we are in a great position to buy without the nonsense of dealer markup or even at MSRP. The market is beginning to drop on the some of the "overland craze" vehicles. I'm ready to buy as soon as I'm able to get closer to Invoice or fleet pricing. Even with AAA pricing the Lexus dealers are not budging much under MSRP right now. I imagine the hitch debacle has something to do with the slow down in sales.

The 4Runner is in really high demand and it's hard to find the 4wd models on any dealers lot. The new Sequoia pricing remains to be seen. It will be interesting what the next year will bring in the way of pricing.

For the time being I will continue to run my 150,000 mile 17 year old 2WD GMC Sierra into the ground. With TruTac diff, 3.73 gears and ice breaker snow chains, it is not too bad for getting us up to the cabin or other off road traveling for camping and hauling my Beta around. The disadvantage of my rig is manual transmission and no AC. It makes for a tough ride in the summer desert heat.

So it's GX460, 4Runner or new Sequoia for our budget when the pricing calms down. Of course life could throw those plans out the window. But for now......
Ha-ha! We purchased our GX460 from Lexus of Cerritos! We were up in Tahoe and I saw it online right about the time we were heading back home, so we stopped by, loved, bought it! Never looked back since. In all honesty, I wasn't too thrilled with the service I received from the sales person, albeit, he was very young and it looked almost like one of his first sales.
Nice thing about the GX's, is that they ALL are full time all wheel drive WITH Lo4, where the 4R's can be anything from 2x, part time 4x or all wheel drive.
Also consider if the interest rates start going back to 0% or even in the 1% range. That's like free money! Even if you could pay cash, investing that cash money in the bank would still earn you more than what your interest payments would be.

I budgeted for 10.00 per gallon gas way back in 2008 when the gas prices climbed to over 5.00 a gallon. I saw the writing on the wall and adjusted my budget for it. Once it gets past 10.00 I will have to re-asses. My driving habits have remained the same as they were 20 years ago.

That being said, gas prices have zero impact on sales of gas guzzling SUV's and trucks. Tahoes, Escalades, F150-F450, GMC Sierras, etc ,etc are seeing record sales right now. Smart buyers know that petroleum drinking products are not going away anytime soon. The global infrastructure is 50 or more years away from being able to support alternative energy sources that exceed petroleum sources.

Could you imagine if every vehicle in your neighborhood ran on electricity. The power grid would be overloaded and could not support them. I have done the math. We would have rolling blackouts and blown transformers.

Unfortunately most of the motoring public is in panic mode right now. They don't fully understand supply and demand. Right now "available" supply is low and demand is high. We have plenty of supply and reserve to go hundreds of years. It's just being held up and not being made available due to... Well it's against the forum rules to say.

I saw those prices too. Not sure about how accurate they are. But I bet you are pretty darn close. I'm really bummed that the third row seating and batteries take up so much room.

A premium equipped GX460 is just under 60K. I just wished it had the 360 deg camera and transmission cooler option on that trim level.
The tranny cooler is an easy add… the cameras not so much.

I think there was guy on here a few years back that found out that all the electrical connectors and wiring are there and he was contemplating buying the cameras seeing if he could get them to work… I don’t think it went any further than that.

I'm thinking this is a '14+ option by the looks of radio... easier system to add these video mods on than 10-13... unfortunate for us...

I will tell you the luxury model is very attractive. I personally like the adjustable suspension and rear self leveling air bags. All the different crawl modes are not necessary for me. Too bad you can't option out some of the features.

You can option a Luxury with just the cameras

Second highest August sales at 3,137 units

#1 was 2017

Just hoping there's no buyer's remorse when the new next gen comes out in a year.
But again, if they can afford the hit on the trade in, then it'll make the next gen sales look stronger!

Next Gen will probably be a turbo 4 or 6. Maybe more people are buying now for a reason. Who knows. 90% of GX sales go to soccer moms who don't pay attention to model years and engine size anyway. haha

If it is boxier like the rumors claim and available with front and rear lockers like we've heard, then I will definitely be picking one up. Odds of us offloading the 460 are slim though, I'd like to hang on to one of the last V8 models.

I imagine the GX consistently being at the top of various "Most Reliable Vehicle" lists does a lot of work for the GX's target market after they get sick of dealing with their BMW or Audi issues.
