Hi all,
I wasn't getting any love over at Paint and Body section so I figure I'll try it here. I am going to at some point paint my fj40 and would like to fix this gutter situation without dismantling the top. The top is in great shape, but a PO must have decided the gutter was draining too slow and did this to it, he also drilled small holes in various parts of the gutter. Any suggestion on how to fix it without dismantling it? Would it be possible to weld it back together w/o setting the fiberglass top on fire? Thanks.

Maybe something like a steel putty would work for the holes. As far as the lip goes, maybe cut off the bad, and re-mold it back up with the same putty. ?

Welding in that area may cause some melting issues, but if you had a wet rag handy and backed your holes with a brass block, and used very quick trigger pulls, followed by the wet rag you may get away with it, but thats a big maybe...

And while your at it, you might as well, dig all the sealer out of the gutter and redo it all the way around.

I was planning on removing the sealer before I attempt any welding, you can even see some of it standing up in the pic.
