GRRind 1st and 3rd, are they gone?

Well, the transmission of the $100 Mini has some issues. It feels like it's shifting into 1st and 3rd, but let off the clutch and you get grinding and grinding but no go. Are those gears gone, or could some sort of linkage be messed up?
 
Doesn't really matter. Tranny has to come apart to fix it.
 
im in the same boat more or less i was told not only on this site but others was the hardest thing was to drop it.needed a press for the bearings and the transfer case was a sinch also:D .man get it done and post a thread with pictures
 
So it's a very easy tranny to work on, thats good. I have a press, and most tools that would be needed to do some parts swapping, but where do I get the parts?

Well I gave it some more thought, and it might be a gear on the counter shaft. 1st, 3rd, 5th and reverse are on it. How is 5th and reverse? And what about 2nd, 4th?

The coupler I was talking about is what slides over the synchronizer rings and engages the gears. But it probably is most likey a stripped gear on the counter shaft. Infact, probably 3rd, because if I remember correct 1st and 3rd share a gear, which could let reverse and 5th work.
 
what year do you need? I have one from an '84 pickup with transfercase you can have for $150 - located in Harrisonburg, VA
