that's not really how that works... but I think we are already beyond the shallow waters of people's attention spans (f=ma is just the HS version and k is just as or more important than m in modal work). batteries love low freq noise. they are lead sheet pendulums.

Happy to geek out with you if you're willing to trade notes. But if you'd rather stroke your ego, than be my guest.

You're the new guy on the 200-series forum. Don't be so quick to judge and don't assume what you will about others as many of us didn't get to own such fine vehicles from underachieving at life.

Bringing this discussion BTT...

After 7+ years, my AGM group 34/78 "house" battery has been slowly failing for a few months, so I need to think about replacement. It won't run my fridge for more than about 3-4 hours, depending on ambient temp and if I have it in freezer mode. Not useful. It's a X2Power from Batteries+.

My 8+ YO Odyssey 31-PC2150 AGM starting battery is still doing fine. But it is ~$630 to replace, if I get the same thing, which will probably be soon (nothing lasts forever).

Thinking about moving to FLA, mostly just due to cost. I can get a group 24 deep discharge Marine battery for the house that I think will fit, for only $135. Is there any risk/issue with running mixed battery types?

How are they isolated/charged?

If you have a DCDC charger that you can edit settings on, it’s zero issue, but if it’s a “dummy” isolator like a blue seas, than mixing is no good

Mine is the "dummy" style, the Blue Sea ML-ACR. It's been on the job since early 2018. I like the satisfying "thunk" when it engages. But the smarter DCDC units weren't the thing back then.

Yeah, there will be mixed opinions here.

Many here (and only here) claim AGMs are the devil and will never work with stock system.

My Odyssey AGM lasted 3 years in my 100 series, then 4 years in my Tundra when I moved it over, so I don’t agree with their argument, and that’s fine.

If it’s the dummy style, I’d have both batteries matching chemistry personally

I ran SLA on starter w Odyssey AGM aux using BCDC. No problems.
Replaced starter w same AGM you have. I try to charge both w Noco dual charger every other week or so.
AGM starter has about 70% life remaining. I will eventually replace it w SLA again and keep running AGM for aux.
For extended camping when not moving, I connect the fridge to lithium battery in the rear and can run fridge/freezer for days.
