Thanks TLC, I am glad its done and down... now I need to black out all the chrome and get everything installed. Finish my bumpers, roof rack and sliders, paint them, AND then on to the interior.... And then the trailer and then the.... the list never ENDS!

Interior To Do LIST!

1) dye the headliner and sun visors black
2) new seat belts
3) paint all the interior panels and vinyl black
4) build new door cards and cover them in red and black marine vinyl
5) install carpet
6) put the Wet Okole covers on the seats F&R (thanks Danny and Alexis)
7) figure out the ignition key and wiring hack-up back to the OEM harness (MAYBE SpeedHut gauges???)
8) stereo, amp and speaker install
9) build shorty cargo storage box
10) install slider cargo bars and hooks
11) build doggy barrier
12) build headliner net and fishing pole holder...

I probably missed a few items... HA!

Like I said... lot of work to do!

J

J, I'd like to revise my answer...black is by far the best choice...came out great. Based on the pace you check items off your list I figure you should be done with this by Saturday 3:45pm.

-Really like the idea of dying the headliner...i was already planning on redoing my visors black since the originals are kind of falling apart.
-are you just putting new OEM seatbelts in?
-going with the red carpet in Goss? Thought I remember reading a post about you going with black for some reason (red was too bright).
-can't wait to see what your door panels look like

I need to take a week or two off from work so that I can focus on the walrus...you're making me way too jealous with the progress.

Cheers,

K

K, It would be nice to have it done that quick...

I will be using an aftermarket seat belt. I need to find Spike Strips thread on the belts and revisit where to get them. I decided to use the red carpet. If I hate it for some reason I will take it out. With all the red I may just go with a plain black door panel.. I have plenty of material to make more.

Well I figure since I'm slow right now, I better use the time to my advantage.

J, just thinking outloud here, but I'm wondering if someone has already wired up a 4bt into the stock FJ60 wiring harness...and what they learned from it...

I went to this site and poked around under the "Electrical Tech" section...didn't see any information specific to your situation, but maybe one of those guys might be a good resource or at least give you a good strategy for making decisions on how to approach the electrical.

http://www.ih8mud.com/cruisertech.php

Also, you should get your name listed there for work that Trail Tailor is doing!!

There are people watching this who have experience wiring up 4BTs and are ready to answer specific questions, or help troubleshoot, when he gets to it :D

Here he is in the sun..

Found my little turbo diesel stickers.. not sure where I'll put it yet , if anywhere.
I was going to start installing the marker lights, etc.. but my vendor sent me two PS amber marker lights.. GOT PISSED and :flush: CANNED that plan.... Ordered the right one from toyotapartszone.com.... Hopefully it will be here next week....

See next post>>>>>>>>>> For new item..

I lied... One more post after this one.....

Got my SEM order from Summit, man those guys are fast on orders. Waiting on the adhesion promotor from Amazon. Also, my little cheap cabinet blaster arrived. I was impressed that although a tight fit, a 15" rim fit in the cabinet

Got Patrick's bumper back on the table to finish up Monday. I will box it as well and be ready to ship when he is ready.. FEDEX GROUND!!!

OK here it is...started on my trailer. Frame is almost complete. I have read that the trailer springs are too stiff and bouncy... So, I'm going to use my old OME light front springs. SOA design and I will build my own axle, perches and shackles.

This will be a pretty generic trailer with a full lift top, 24" sides, pintle and eye hitch.

More details to come in the near future.

J, those rear fixed spring perches are crying out for some black paint.

J, UV inhibitor in the monstaliner or will it get chalky like Line-X eventually?

J, you think the sem soap and plastic prep are worth it? i didn't use it on my grille, headlight buckets, or side vents. I've decided to do my steering wheel, dash cap and the side b-pillar caps now to...so I have to buy some more...trying to decide if the soap and prep are worth it.

What's the trim black getting used on? My wipers are looking fugly...but I was thinking of just hitting them with some left over eastwood chassis paint.

K, Soap and cleaner are for the vinyl and absolutely, IMO, they are worth it for vinyl/plastic interior pieces. The promotor and trim paint are for the exterior pieces, thought I'd try it out this go around... grill headlamp bezels, vents etc.. AND also the dash metal and back lift gate interior face... I ordered in a new black dashcap from Trimjobber, it should be here next week.

I have decided to build Goss a new rear bumper. My original prototype will be for sale soon if anyone is interested in a DEAL! I really like the other shell I have been playing with and I plan on making a few angular mods to that rear... Will get started on it next week.

Also, ordered the windshield and Precision non-lockstrip gasket and plan on stripping/steaming off all the old tint and putting new 25% tint on as well..

Let me know if anyone is interested in the proto-rear...

J, I used the color coat on the grille, cans, vents...is that going to hold up or should I hit it with some trim black...thought the color coat was the right stuff for the outside. argh.
