J, I used the color coat on the grille, cans, vents...is that going to hold up or should I hit it with some trim black...thought the color coat was the right stuff for the outside. argh.

K, ColorCoat is good for flexible or rigid plastics. It describes this along with vinyl and carpets, so I think it is more designed for interior parts. The SEM Trim is designed for exterior plastics.

Reevesci,

Your wagon is really coming along, but I'm really drawn to what you are doing in your shop. Quality work with an artist eye on detail, nice!

Ron, that comment means a lot to me, after seeing your piggie build, thank you for the kind words. I wish I had a 55 near me to model bumpers... I've had a few requests, but no luck on finding a donor for a few days to build off of.

O'Reilly's out here actually carries the trim paint in their warehouses...just ordered it and will use for the final coats on the outside parts....will use the two cans of the color coat I have for the interior plastic that needs some love. Ordered some of the SEM soap and plastic prep. I wanna be just like J when I grow up. :)

so what are you using the color coat for if you're doing the grille, head light bucket, and side vents with the trim black?

HEE HEE.. the door grab handles, all dash plastic (gauge bezel-AC control area), map door pockets, seat belt b-pillar covers, console, rear cargo and d-pillar plastic.

You have no idea how much you just cost me in ideas. Time to go dig up mah gold. "Or maybe bitcoin will come back" - said no one ever.

Not doing the steering wheel? I was planning on doing the wheel and column, ac controls surround and b pillar. Didn't ever think of the back areas. Can't do mine since the windows are in. That is going to to look so good COMPLETELY blacked out.

Will replace it with a Black and Red MOMO, maybe just black, wheel.
