That is what I thought. Great idea! Can't wait for you to get the business up and running. I need a rear bumper!

Believe me, I am ready for things to finish up and settle down at work and at the house so I can start building a few things. If possible. I want to build an inventory up so guys aren't waiting 1-3 weeks for something. I have always wanted what I buy as soon as I can get it. I know others are the same.

We will stay in touch J and get you squared away on armor. I have several people inquiring already and have a few solid orders, which is a good thing.

i need to get some new rear hatch shocks.....mine went over the weekend...all of the sudden...when my head was under the hatch. Hurts quite a bit to have the hatch slam down on the squash.

My shocks are brand new in the rear and everytime you open the back it near takes your head off

Sounds l like a great plan! I believe most people want it when the order, instant gratification!

Can't wait to get my Cruiser armored up!

That would be a sweet name for a company "Armored up" in my opinion!

Got a new to me trans hump cover from Mel Lowe... I can't say enough about how professional this guy is.. I've bought a few things from him and have not been disappointed yet. Thanks D..

Now I can seal up all the "open" areas allowing sound and environment in around the shifters.....

Got your text. Never made it.. I caught up on a few things around the house and relaxed on Monday.. For sure this coming weekend. I have a 3 day weekend before a 21 day straight run..

So hopefully a Bees/Rivercats game (Fri or Sat) and some playtime next weekend.

I bought some stuff from Mel Lowe as well. Stand up dude.

Hope things are going well with the house and stuff sir!

A, We are about 95% done with the house, only small touch-ups remain.. Shop is about the same.. I have started boxing up all of Goss' stockpiles and getting the shop organized for the fabshop to start making armor, etc..

Have 50 bumpers in queue at the shop for press braking.. (got all the metal sheared to L x W this week..) 25 spindles are ready to ship now and hopefully this week after work???? I will start cutting all the metal for my sliders.. BUSY BUSY around my house bro.. Hope you are doing well! A- says hello BTW!.

Also, found a "plush" carpet match for the brown 60 carpets.. BUT, still on the hunt for a brown loop and both plush and loop for the OEM blue/grey..

Don't be a stranger..

Sounds crazy at your place but in a good way. Getting things checked off the list so you can get busy on the important things!

One question on the spindles, why the bushing over bearings?

I'm excited to see the brown plush.. Good luck on the other types.

No bearings, just a flanged bronze bushing that rides over the solid spindle. I'll try and post a pic of the brown (poo-rootbeer) plush against the loop non-faded OEM brown, its a great match. All the brown loop samples I've received are lighter..

Sounds like good things are happening for you J.... glad to hear it. I may have to hit you up for one of those slider kits if I can ever get my new bike done! LOL... oh the toys, I dont know how we would afford everything we do/own if we had "real" kids (not furry four legged ones).

J, I totally understand that it is only a bushing.. I guess what I wanted to know, and didn't make clear, is why did you pick a bushing over a bearing type spindle. I like the idea and have few thoughts as to why the bushing would be better. That being said I wanted to pick your brain on the subject. ;)

Can't wait to see the carpet. I need new rear cargo area, so might as well change it all!!!!!!

Per someone else I know, J: "You're busier than a one arm paper hanger"

Excited for you...and can't wait to see your bumper design(s)!

The bushing type spindles are typically stronger and require significantly less (read no) maintenance. The bearing type spindles are not as heavy duty, by virtue of the supporting spindle being narrower than that of a bushing setup, and they require periodic lubrication to prevent bearing seizure, whereas bronze bushings do not.

I have heard of, and seen, bearing spindles snap off of bumpers while offroading. I have never heard of a bushing spindle snapping off.

Just to play devils advocate, the bearing spindle I'm using (and have seen most frequently) is a trailer axle spindle and way beefier than the bushing type.

However it is a more complicated design to manufacture, with more parts, and therefore more $$$ to use for a build. That's the only downside I see.

Oh, and... SUBSCRIBED!!! Cool build you going!
