My 92 80 series land cruiser when I accelerate shortly after starting the vehicle (still warming up), I'll hit like a wall on the pedal and even when I increase pressure there's more resistance but the RPMs and speed don't change... Until eventually it revs up a ton and then the transmission won't change gears unless I really ham on it and then the rest of the drive the transmission behaves poorly. When I give it time to warm up, it doesn't do this. Also putting Lucas transmission fix helped a ton but not entirely. I've already had a shop flush the system and change the pan filter, which helped for a little bit and then stopped helping. Wondering if I need to have solenoids replaced, look at TPS or shift sensor, or just accept that my trans is on its way to the grave?

friend had the same and changing solenoids fixed it. Take it to a proper transmission place, and not one that is going to screw and screw you into overhauling the entire trans (unless it needs it). I assume you've checked the adjustment of your transmission kickdown cable too? Though I doubt this would cause the issues you've mentioned.

Try the manual shifting test. It will help determine if it’s the shift solenoids.
