You can pour some in the new convert , not a bad idea and Zero filter .. really clean inside my old one and new larger cooler. I will flush the radiator cooler with some fluid. Push through any particles that maybe inside it.Do you pour a quart or so of ATF into the Torque Convertor before installing
or like to add an inline filter after a rebuild?
If the trans was burned clutched, broken metal parts ect then flush cooler and or replace radiator. Have not installed a filter on the cooler lines before.
Bug thing, not to restrict the cooler flow .. I saw a crankshaft thrust bearing get eaten up with collapsed hose in the oil cooler on a 4runner from someone vise grip the cooler hose closed on a radiator change abs collapsed the hose inside. This created converter pushing in the thrust and ate it up.
Seen this on a small block Chev years ago too.
Not common … Thrust eaten away …
