It’s probably smaller than a C.U. Next Tuesday hair.I have some questions: First can one define the size/distance of a "gnat's ass" or is it like a "C.U.Next.Tuesday Hair" level of precise measuring? Since a "CH" is measured at .003" to .005" wide using the Imperial Standard, or .0762mm to .127mm Metric Standard and the "RCH" is about half of these measurements would the aforementioned Gnat's arse be larger or smaller or the same as these measurements for reference?Thank you and carry on. Little updates.
Gerry rolled 325k last week. I had both front and rear drive shafts rebuilt and balanced, as well as 5 tire rotation and oil change.
Not much to report.

Just got mine rebuilt from a place over here on Buford highway. $410 for a reinforced shaft with OEM u-joints I provided. Pretty great price considering the labor and tubing.

Since my last post, the new u joints I had installed in the rear shaft went toast. Whatever is causing me vibrations is still ongoing and is canceling the joints from life quickly. I found a few threads where folks mentioned that, for some reason, a completely new OEM shaft is what fixed the problem.
So I took advantage of a sale and bought one. I'm 2-3 weeks and one road trip in so far. It started off damn near perfect, but a small vibration has developed. However, if it stays exactly as it is right now, it's fine enough that I won't bother more with it. It's minor enough that probably most people wouldn't care anyway.
Since then I've also replaced the remaining 2 front diff bushings. Air hammer made the front cup bushing a piece of cake.
Mileage is at like 328k or something.

Oh yeah and someone ran in to me while I was on my road trip. After popping the light bucket back in to shape, I'm confident in saying I suffered no real damage.

Swapped on my 35s today in preparation for COTR III. Did oil and filter, lubed everything, ordered new air and cabin filters to install tomorrow. I also removed the pop pins from my rear bumper, cleaned the crud in my parts washer, ran them through my blast cabinet, greased them and reinstalled. Nice and smooth, no notchiness anymore. I'll toss on my skids tomorrow as well.
Mileage is 330k! She's been with me for 5 years as of this week and Gerry is a part of the family. We love this truck!

Oh wow! That snapped like a twig! I am sure you guys are finding the limits of stock hardware with 35" tires!

You might be right. Watch the approach video at 37 seconds, it looks like something broke and the wheel wiggled in/ out before the ultimate breakage. So, I wonder if there was something already afoot before the steps. I definitely wasn't too heavy on the gas, and it never lifted the wheel. It WAS locked, which just goes back to my position that I really don't like locking the front diff when I can help it.Heavy footed may not be entirely accurate

Some guys are going to roll their eyes at me for this, but I'm feeling like I'm about done beating up on the truck and trying bigger badder meaner obstacles. She's getting old and I am getting older as well. Might be close to time to just find camp spots that nobody else can, instead of "hey y'all watch this".
