Bad boy? Head kicker? Where can I find out about all these different Gturbos on the net? Surely they don't all still fit in the original turbo housing?

Not wanting to steal Graeme's thunder, but that issue will soon be resolved.:bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce:

So what you're saying is that some awesome stuff is coming up from Graeme. Hmmm. And I wanted a Gturbo installed before March ...

As for reliability of a 1hz, I have a feeling I will be finding out sooner rather then later. I have a smile in my pants thinking about it! At least I'm happy in the knowledge of what the platform is capable of holding, and if I can bust that, well, that's awesome just thinking about! Good thing I have a couple of spare gearboxes and diffs floating around!

Has anyone put a Gturbo on an 80 series 1HDT engine with 3" exhaust and Safari air to air intercooler? That is the setup I am looking at and would love to know what boost you could push it too as long as you watch EGTs. What power and torque could you get out of it? I see people using a very wide range of boosts here. Cheers.

I have this setup, and I use 1,35 bar. Very happy with this setup.
I have not taken any dyno test, but it is extremely different engine now :)

At 23psi boost with a slipping clutch as shown by the pot holes in the HP line.

1992 HDJ80R, 33/12.5/R15, Safari Intercooler, GTurbo Grunter2 & 3" exhaust

Thanks Bernie. I've got 35" tyres and plan to have an HD clutch put in as well so I'm not sure what that would do to those figures. I suppose unless you're on 31" tyres all the figures would be slightly skewed - which way I'm not sure. Was that in 4th gear by the way?

What sort of EGTs do you get up to? Do you have to keep watching the gauge for fear of damaging the engine?

That's not my vehicle.

I run 33's never seen a dyno but run a Grunter2 turbo on 23psi, tow a caravan weighing over 2 ton and that is the only time I ever look at my ETG's and then only if it's a long pull up a hill, must hills I go over are in 5th but if the ETG's start to get up there I just change down a gear and ETG's drop.

It's also how efficient the intercooler is, effect the ETG's as well as the air fuel ratio.
Correctly tuned, ETG's should not be much of an issue at all.

I have a new BB2 in the mail that will be running 35psi, and EGT's should be even less of an issue.

Nope just 33's, well not just 33's as some great people run them

Has it had the diff gearing changed? I really can't be bothered myself. To correct the speedo I had a thing installed to the speedo cable to compensate. It is much slower to accelerate of course.

NFI but would guess not :meh:

HDT Gturbo think it was 25psi, 35 muds, unsure of gearing. Pretty sure it was stock 4.1. Manual 4th pull

Won't loose any sleep over that little bit, there could be that much variance in between the two different dyno's, even between summer and winter.

Edit, there you go 2wd against 4wd

Edit, different turbo
