I didn't even see Josh, didn't know he made it in this year. Did he stay all week?

I was the only west-coast-displaced GA Cruiser that made GSMTR this year. Josh apparently likes one day at Durhamtown better than 6 days at Windrock. Meh - to each his own though I guess. Haha

You left instructions for it to serve extraction duties as needed while you're out west

Hey guys,
It was great to see everyone at John's over the weekend!
As most of you may be aware, I am facing some changes in my life and possibility in need of help of the cruiser community

1. I would need some help packing up tools, dismantling some shelving, tools, etc. to get ready to be put in temporary storage.
2. Does anyone know of someone/organization that could help board my dog on a temporary basis?

I cannot keep him where I am at for now until I get another place to stay. He is a big lab (see my avatar) that is about 9 yrs old.

Thanks,

A

Give me a day you're planning on packing and ill head over.

We are a little far south but willing to help a friend. If u don't get enough volunteers let us know we can help on a weekend. Also I have a 10x10 kennel that I could set up for ur dog. Again we are an hour south I know it's a good ride and sux. But we have dogs as well that we have to tend to already so 1 more won't be a problem.

Just throwing it out there I'm sure I'm to far away but just incase u need a last minute plan.

hmm, I know where you can store those if you don't have room. I scored a GoPro Hero 3 yesterday for $0. Been farting around with that thing for the last hour or so, the app is pretty cool and makes things very easy to use. Any tips on the best way to use this thing?

just let us know Andrew.

Not sure but i think a $0 GoPro3 trumps a $13 YETI. I watched that video of you on the "insert new name here", I can't wait until I get to see it in person and maybe someday have something to run it.

Sweet. How'd that come about? Pretty sure the 3 is a heck of a lot simpler to use than my 2 since mine has a separate attachment for the WiFi. Learn where the up/down view selection mode is; If you have multiple mounting locations like I do, you'll change that frequently. Try not to let a memory card reach capacity while video is running; I've had issues with that in the past. Determine now, before you use it for "real" videos, what resolution/screen angle you like best. Don't mount it anywhere it can sustain major damage; The moment you forget it's there, you're guaranteed to knock it off with a tree or rock (pray you notice when that happens so you don't lose it or run over it).

Dad bought it months ago for deer hunting but the lack of a zoom lens made it unusable for his needs. So, it pays to be a good son from time to time.

It came with several clamp-on and sticky tape mounts but no suction cup mount unfortunately. Guess I'll put 2 of the sticky mounts on truck, 1 front and 1 rear and go from there.

If you haven't messed with the app I'd suggest trying it. The Hero 3 allows for built in ad hoc wireless connection w/ your iphone or droid for remote control and viewing, kinda cool I thought.

I have used the app on my previous phone and it was so-so. Most likely that was due to the phone being dated though. Now that I have a slightly newer one, I need to download it again and see if its better.

My second most dreaded task... The first being reassembly.

Sorry we are not in Rome still Andrew. MH and I would have gladly taken care of the pooch for as long as you needed.

Andrew,
We've got a huge fenced in back yard and will be glad to help out with the dog. We have 4 already and depending on how everyone would get along
we'd be glad to lend a hand. Let me know if you'd like to bring your dog by and test the waters.

Ben,
and
Thanks for the offer to take care of Sam. I should know in a few days what the status is with him and if he needs a place to stay. I just found out today that he was dropped off at the vet in early May and has been there ever since. Pretty disappointing to say the least.
