You can follow the build here- http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.515305795162397.135580.228451083847871&type=1&notif_t=like

We can't get the 105 model around here, or that latest version of the 1FZ-FE. Nice! What was the original stock HP and torque ratings? John

Jealous. Maybe a stupid question but: fuel economy?

My turbo charged ride puts down twice as much power as my cruiser and I still get twice the fuel economy. I'm wondering if the effects are the same.

nice!! and welcome!

a couple of questions:
1) what did you do with the original factory airfilter assembly/air box ??
2) why the need for 700HP?

just curious on no 2, and i know people is the USA that may want to buy no 1 !!

nice clean 105 and you were so lucky to get a low km example!!!
cheers
peter

Sent from my iPad3 using IH8MUD
1) probably sell it
2)that's what the customer wanted

we got them from 98-02, 212hp(4600) and 275 ftlb(3000) info here-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_FZ_engine

they typically get around 8mpg

Hey..is this in-line six motor the same CI size as the Toyota Supra?

If so this thing is going to be a beast.... bare none.

This is a 4.5L engine. The 1jz/2jz are 3.0L engines….
Still, 155HP/litre is serious stuff, particularly when you need to retain a decent torque band.

Nice intake manifold. Are there runners in there, or a single plenum?
The sweet thing about this build is the amount of room available in that bay. No need for the typical contorsionist trick to pack everything in.
Are you doing the ECUmap from scratch, or is there a good starting point for the 1FZ-FE?
Want to see the dyno results once this is built!

Full disclosure; I'm an expat Aussie.

There is a bell mouth on each runner.

Once all the lpg stuff goes in it won't look so open.

We've done a few of these so we'll have a base map. But it's not hard to do one from scratch. It will need a map for each fuel anyway.

I'll put up dyno results when its done.

hey mate how did the intake fit up? where the face's flat ? i want one for my 80 im turboing and the only thing holding me back is if it will clear the dizzy on the earlier motor.

cheers sam

I'd love 700HP. However I don't think the front end of the IFS could handle it. Too much front lift would cause you to top the front end out all the time. At least with a 3" lift...

I think the dizzy would clear(about to do an 80 also) but it does hit the fire wall and the top radiator hose outlet pipe. faces weren't to bad but we machined them anyway.

that's a production intake manifold or it's custom one .. looking really sweet ..

No, it's just a Chinese production manifold we've modified, it's still a lot cheaper than manufacturing one from scratch.

I'd be very surprised if the IFS couldn't handle it.

I am sure the front end could handle the power delivery, however you would run out of droop before with the amount of front lift you would have. Not to mention the torque steer from the front end pulling. I think if you are running 700HP with a setup similar to mine, you would need a part time kit to keep the front end from rising. Just too much power and a wrong suspension setup (lifted IFS)

Very nice build!
What are the torque specs?
What RPM is it pulling 700hp? Were you able to increase the RPM redline?
Where does the PCV hoses connect? From the pics they just kind of run off to the left and you can't see where they terminate.

Part time kit, and light on the throttle when offroad, problem solved :)

Made some more progress.
