FYI - LX and FZJ80 stock bumper compatability

They aren't. At least mine isn't.

I bought an lx450 bumper (or at least something with the chrome trim) used and planed to paint it and replace my damaged one on my 97 40th, I found out today that the wing mounting is different and even the length of the bumper is slightly different (bumper is 1.5 inches longer, wings are shorter).

My stock bumper. there are also some subtle differences to the mounting of the wings (my wings don't mount to the body, only the bumper, these wings mount to both for some reason)

Anyway, I would use this bumper and paint it up except all the bolts are rusted solid and the wing clips are half broken. Dang. Hopefully kurt doesn't mind taking it back?

Hmmm I wonder if you used a Land Cruiser center section and LX wings if you could shorten the bumper for those not running flares?

Seems logical. The mounts are different but you could make it work

Dont think thats a LX bumper - but rather a 91-94 bumper that had chrome trim stock.

Yup, just like my 97...must have been an FJ80 or early FZJ80 bumper as was suggested. I measure it again tonight, the old one is a full 3 inches longer, and the wings are that much shorter to compensate. If you wanted to deflare, a late 80s bumper with early 80's caps might noy be a bad choice for fitment.
