Sweet! If you get to the install before me (likely- now that the home 🏡 list just increased) let me know how it goes 👍🏼

Will do. Just got the super deluxe Hudd Expo battery cable kit too, so doing all of that at along with Auxbeam and winch setup. Will get to it next week, have a race this week(end) 🏁

180 amp 14.8V
If not too much trouble, see if you can get pics of the stocker before you take it out, then the 180A in-place so we can see the relative clearances. And let us know if you can run the same belts...

Just got it in. We use these in both of our Trophy Trucks. One has a dual alt setup (redundancy, also has two starters and two of most every other critical system). Here’s some engine porn as well..

Should be able to install next week.

Nothing but good things to say about my DC Power 270 amp alternator. I threw in an Exide AGM battery the month after install and both are running strong still. That was from back in early 2017.

Began installing last week. Pain in the ass for access, prob should have removed more components. Ended up pulling ps res line and oil filter. Needed to grind mounting tabs to be able so slide into bracket. Would not go all the way in. Not sure why. No pics yet. Still need to install all of the HuddExpo batt cables.

Looks like we had the same issue with fitment. Surprising after all this time they haven't modified the billet case to fix the issue. Otherwise, great product.

Interesting, I always wondered if anyone else has that same issue. To be fair to the company, they probably don't sell a lot for the 80 series and I never gave them any feedback. Glad you got yours in.

Any chance you took pix of mods and install? If this is the same case as used a few years ago, you're going to have an issue with the lower bracket (technically the 'fan belt adjustment bar' or somesuch in ToyotaSpeak) as well...

I didn't, had my guys do it at my shop.

I’m super curious (and really hoping) those issues are different for the 180amp version - kinda doubt it though. Did you have to retap the bolt as well or was that tapped with the proper 8x1.25 as noted by @baggar11 ?

Still delayed in getting a date set for install of mine…an ever growing list sits ahead of that project.

Thank you @Brav for keeping this thread more useful instead of dormant from the time I first posted 😂

Someone somewhere said the 180 was a drop-in for them. Specs on both in this thread:

@baggar11's 270 fitment issues (from 2017) chronicled below. Though the model # on the alt is different, DC tells me it's probably the same case as the one they're using now. I'll be installing on a stand, so plenty of room to work (and photograph); I'll post that up in the Options thread linked just above, when I get around to installing...

Ah. Okay. Can you take pix of it installed? Love to see how they handled the lower bracket issue...
