I really like the look of these wheels on this LC 200 Mine is a 2011 this one pictured is a 2013-15 model
I have the fender flairs on mine. I thinking about buying these, however doing the math and comparing them to my current setup with the OEM 285/60/18 oem size tires and oem 18x8 60mm offset rims with 1.25" wheel spacers = 31.75mm making my current offset 28.25mm . I just barely clear with out any rubbing, in fact just the right off camber full lock reverse maneuver I can get a tiny amount of rub on the inside of the left front fender liner. I can't see how these would not rub, but looking at these picture they don't seem to be sticking out as far as the math tells me they should be.

Am I missing some thing? The math would indicate to me that this DD551 wheel being a 18x9 with a 20mm offset that I would be pushing my wheels out an additional 0.82"s or should I say the added offset looks to be 20.95mm over what I have now.

Anyone have any thoughts on this setup with a stock suspension.
Would everyone agree with my calculations that those have to be rubbing in full lock turns with the setup pictured.

Here are some picture of the exact wheels with likely a similar tire planned with the purchase.
That tire I think is a Nitto AT of some sort and I am guessing it is the OEM 285/60/18 size.

The more I look at these pictures, the more I really like the look, the stance the mat black finish on those wheels with grey rings all of it.
My cruiser is all white with similar tinted windows.

if you are close to rubbing now with the stock 18x8(60mm offset) wheels and the 1.25 inch spacers, then you are gonna rub when you put those wheels on, your math is spot on! Nothing a sawsal can't fix:D I agree that rigs looks great with those wheels and stance, go for it!

You only live once! Give it a go!

I agree with all the above comments, and yes it will rub a bit specially with stock suspension but nothing too crazy.

I use to have this same set up......... WAIT! that's actually my car you have in that picture haha.

Check my build thread.

Nice !
I was wondering if I might run across the owner of that cruiser on here.

What tire size and model of tire is that.

Rub at partial full lock no articulation needed or only rubbing in certain articulated manovers?

I was guessing at the 285/60/18 maybe terra grappler g2 or something similar?

I checked out your build thread, I could not find any mention of the Fuel DD551's , there were a couple picture of your roof rack on page 1, where you can see the fuel wheels were still on it. I found mention and details about the Wheels you have now that are 30mm offset 18x8s.

I am real curios what is the story, on why you swapped out of the fuel wheels so quick? Were they sticking out to far, too much rub, quality issue?

i'm currently running the fuel trophy 18x9 +20 with 275/70/18 bfg ko2's, i'm lifted on bp'51's and i removed the mudflap and wind deflector on the front are of the wheel well, and i still get a little rub at full lock, nothing terrible and something that should go away once i get my arb bumper on

Does the wheel edge come out past the fender any at all. I am thinking if I stick with the stock tire size 285/60/18 it might not be really minor rub. Also I don't want my tires anywhere close to hanging out the fenders, from the pic I found, I think my Oem fender flairs will take care of concealing the tire bulge I am seeing sticking out on the Picture I posted in the start of the thread.

Prior to this setup I ran trd rw 17x8 with 1.25" spacers so the wheel ended up being a +20 on an 8" rim. The trophy's are +20 on a 9" rim so the wheel itself sticks out 0.25" further than rw's on 1.25" spacers. However on my rw's I ran a 285 tire and on the fuels im running a 275 tire. So 10mm narrower on the fuels 5mm onboard and 5mm outboard so compared to my other setup the tires are 1mm further outboard. Clear as mud? My current 275's on +20 9" wheel are almost completely flush. Nothing sticks out. I probably could go about 5mm more poke to have it completely flush. The 285 on the fuels will look perfect. It however will rub a bit on lock

Almost flush but they do stick out a bit (Im OCD haha), I wanted to keep it totally flush this time.

Yes you're right Nitto Terra Grappler G2's 285/65/18's

Why so quickly well its a long story, I would've kept them but ran into a never ending trip to Butler trying to fix a balance problem (constant vibration no matter what)..... ended up swapping my wheel setup to what I have now which gives me flush and I don't dislike the look...... turned out all that time their machines were out of whack.... took it back to Toyota and in less than 30 minutes they had the car tracking straight and 0 vibrations...... yes butler took care of me $$ for part of that.

All end all I love my setup today but won't deny it....... I was very partial to those wheels.... so GO FOR IT.

PS: oh and the rubbing.... full lock no articulation, took out the little fender thingy's at the front (yes that's the technical term... lol) and made it better, I also cut my mudflaps slightly to make room right where the tires were hitting.... no more rubbing.

Thanks.
Am I thinking about something wrong here? I thought if you change from 18x8 to 18x9 that 1 inch becomes a half inch that has to be added to the offset numbers. I was thinking .5 you mention only .25.

.25 I think I could work with. That 0.5 I was coming up with puts me at least 1/4 inch out past even OE my fender flairs.

I did some measuring on my current set and the side walls of my tires are only setting inside the flairs 1/2 inch. That said my wheel lip is 1.5 from the edge of my flairs. There is a full inch of tire bulge at the top of my tire to the edge of the rim. So part of me wants to think the 1" added rim width may not push the edge of my tires out as far as my math was telling me do to the decrease in tire bulge do to a wider rim.

Okey so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't take this personal hahaha as I've put down a few by now :-))

I think you're over thinking it, look at the pics, I did not do some crazy math but the little I did 20mm was too much... for me that is... I mean it didn't look bad but I had concerns, look at my new setup on post #17 and #19 and see how flush those enkey are..... 30mm and for my taste it's perfect.

Well I was off a little in the tire size gues , same width or very close but a 285/65/18 is taller then my OE size 285/60/18s .
For me that should help the rub.

That said, I think I am likely just as OCD, if the tire are out past the fenders at all they would be coming back off.
I know this because I have done it before on other vehicles when I had missed the mark on measurements, or didn't get the math quite right.

Your offset and 18x8 setup now, is within a couple mm of where I am at with 1.25" spacers and OE 60mm offset rims. My guess your current setup had to be rubbing too since your tires are same width but a little taller then my current setup?

I really wouldn't know at this point as I had already taken the little front tabs off and cut the mudflaps so no idea........

Mine don't rub now....at all, but again if they do your alignment guy can fix some of that with a bit of caster.

I'm rolling Fuels 18x9 with 20mm offset and 285/70 R18 KM2's... They def come out past the fender a bit!

Sorry I should have used the quote button when I was replying to ray. When I saw your post popped up between, I tried to do a quick edit and add the quote to ray but can't add quotes on an edit apparently. Sorry about the confusion on my reply there.

Anyway I here ya, I saved all your pics of your 200 that I could find in your thread with both wheels, just so I could blow them up and look close at what the different setup you had those were very helpful thanks.

The 30mm 18x8 Enki setup puts the tires about perfect, just where I am at now with my spacers.
I just really like the look or style of the 551s I have always loved that beadlock look. I am going to be keeping those Enki's in mind, the do set the tire right where I want would it.

I think I may do some more searching for a wheel that looks like that 551 but with a little better offset. On a 18x9 I am thinking 40mm-45mm would be nice, or on a 18x8 25-32 would be workable.

here's a couple more pics I found that you can kind of get an idea of where the wheel sits in relation to the fender... I can pop off a couple shots tomorrow during the daylight looking down from the fender...

just something to keep in mind when you jump up to a 9 inch wide rim you will need an offset that will keep atleast the factory backspacing... 40-45mm of offset on an 18x9 inch wheel and you would be up against the UCA with the tire...

If I ever get new wheels I will get these, 18x9 with a 25mm offset, would proly put them flush with your fenders and allow proper tuck while flexing. And they look great!

Ah, interesting. Thanks for the tip.

If I spread my 285/60s out another inch being mounting them on a 9" rim, how much decrease in tire bulge should I expect. I have right at an inch of tire bulge now. Would it decrease that tire bulge a 1/2 inch? Is there any sort of thumb for that.
