And? How long did it take?11/5/2020 my 2015 LX570 fuel pump was replaced.
They told me the same rig needed as little fuel as possible...From what I read from the attached spec info my 2015 LX 570 they can do it with almost full tank of gas since it doesn’t look like they remove the gas tank but it’s different with different vehicles
The work order showed I think around two hours labor I dropped it off at 3 o’clock in the afternoon yesterday and they called me at 3 o’clock in the afternoon today to pick it up but they had a lot of stuff going on they gave me a nice brand new GX 460 to drive so I didn’t careAnd? How long did it take?
I looked it up on what they needed in 2015 you could almost have a full tank I talked to the service advisor about it when I drop the car off and they said yeah not a problem they go through the floor above the gas tank they don’t have to take the gas tank down it’s just The fuller the tank the more gas fumes and the longer it takes for them to air the vehicle out before they give it back to youThey told me the same rig needed as little fuel as possible...
If it’s covering the access to the gas tank it would have to be removed because on our vehicles they go in from the top they don’t drop the tank.So did anyone ever confirm that ARB or other drawers have to be removed for the repair? I have one ARB drawer in the back that I would rather not have to remove and don’t want the dealer messing with.

Nothing changed on the vehicle. Not to say some manufacturing defect etc could not be found on a suppliers part. What's the difference between 2013 and 2014-2015? 2013 does not have recall where as 2014-2015 have. My understanding was that between 2013-2015 nothing changed.
They told me it had to be less than a quarter tank or they wouldn't perform the work.
It's always nice to have service completed by the Toyota dealership and not have to pay for anything.
Eh. Decades ago the same problems existed, there just wasn't a recall unless it was extremely widespread and risked fire or complete vehicle failure. Fuel pumps failing at 100k were just chalked up to a crappy part. Nowadays you see recalls for all sorts of stuff with very liberal ties to "safety". Honestly I'm more frustrated that Toyota WON'T recall their crappy radiators. It would be even nicer to have a reliable vehicle that doesn't have any of these maddening recalls.
The gas tank on my 2015 was 7/8 full when I took it in because of reading this I knew it didn’t have to be anything but less than full they agreed did the work no problem.Interesting since the 'Technical Instructions' for Safety Recall (20TA02) indicates that the Land Cruiser fuel tank just has to be 'less than full'.
If not 'less than full', the dealership could drain fuel from the tank to avoid overflow from the fuel tank during the removal of the fuel suction assembly.

Silver lining - if you have a 2014 with 150k miles on it you just got a new fuel pump for free!
