fuel pump for 2f

I'm changing my mechanical fuel pump for my 72 fj40 2f. I ordered a new one through JTO and the instructions in the box said it needed to be installed with the old insulator (spacer) my old one doesn't have that. Any info?

A '72 2F? Never heard of it...what year engine do you really have ?

here is my take toyota used the same pump on the mini trucks .i have tried this and it works but if you dont use the spacer you will ruin the pump arm.i think its about 3/8ths thick like a gasket last one i bought came with the spacer good luck

If the replacement pump looks like the one in the pic, you need the spacer....1/'79 up.........

Otherwise no.........
