You're trying to more or less adapt the banjo fitting to the hard line in the pic right?
Ok, see the bulge on the end of the hard line in the pic? If you (can) cut enough of the fuel line from the donor to slide over the hard line enough for two band clamps to fit...
What will happen is IF there is too much pressure, the line will run out (like it's going to pop off) until the band gets to the bulge. Then the constriction of the hose clamp behind the bulge will cam/ lock ?? bind, behind the bulge b/c the band clamp is too small for it to allow it and the hose to pass over the bulge.
IF, I'm thinking that's what you are asking...
AND, If you can't get enough line from the door, on the cheap. I think they make an adapter that's like a piece of tube with the bulges at each end. Simply slip one end in the piece you can get, band clamp it. Then get a small piece of fuel line and make the connection(you're just making an extension). Just make sure you use band clamps on each splice.
