I don’t know what it is called, so I will do my best to describe what I am looking for. In my ’78 FJ40, there is roughly a 3 ½” hole in the cover over the gas tank, under the passenger seat. This appears to be access to the connection for the fuel gauge.

I am looking for a cover for the hole. Does such a thing exist? Do you have any idea where I could obtain one ?

Looks like a nice wide flat surface to silicon calk on a 4" disk made out of metal or plastic. Need access, use a razor blade to cut the seal - then just glue it back down in place with a little new calk.

I think they are no longer available. Or maybe someone is 3d printing them. You probably need to put a wanted ad in the classified section

@ToyotaMatt was selling those at one time, post #4:

Make your own out of plate aluminum, drill the screw holes, and contact glue a piece of rubber as a seal. Good to go.

If memory serves, the screws go into their own blind tapped holes, not into the tank. Even if they did, they are not near any wiring. All wires are on top of the gas level sending unit/cover plate.
