Hey all. Doing some work on a friend's '96 LC. It has an OME kift kit on there, but I'm not sure of the lift height. The situation is: at full droop the front driveshaft rests on the sway bar. The sway bar mounts are in need of replacement so I'm going to do that for them, but the question is: should I also install the front mounts spacers from Dobinsons to correct this issue?

Is it an aftermarket swaybar or has the original sway bar been fitted back to front (I'm trying to visualize if that is even possible). The stock swaybay is shaped with a low point to allow the driveshaft to clear it.
Maybe the transmission mount is shot and allowing the transfer case to sag?

Thanks, I'll definitely look at the transmission mount (even recommend it to them anyway). It is the OEM swaybar. I'll include a picture of the driveshaft contacting the swaybar in addendum.
Thank you, I'll look into these.

Not know the OME kit's lift height, would there be an issue of lowering the bar "too low" with these or any blocks for the purpose?

This is possible. Cuz it happened to me. Got a full on Slee 4”(cost more than I paid for the 80) and I had an issue where the sway bar and tie rod were touching. Removed the 2” drop blocks that came with the lift and then the front driveshaft touched the sway bar at full droop. Not bad. Just enough to see some paint missing. Need to mill them to one inch and I think I’ll be golden.

Also, my T-case mount(original) was two pieces. Totally separated and just plain shot. Now it’s all fresh w/ new engine mounts too.

Yeah I'll have to check that mount back there too. Thanks for the heads up.

All, I went with the Delta brand spacers. I managed to get new mounts, bushings and the spacer in, but I have to warn anyone looking to install these, the process isn't for the faint of heart. Getting the sway bar up, bolt holes aligned, and parts to all come together in harmony was a ballet of vice grips, prybars and a screw jack (and a Honda oil filter). Not sure if I did it right for the install, but it all ended up without any blood being spilled or bruises showing up.

After about a week of driving the truck around, no contact between anything, no noise and importantly the driveshaft and swaybar are plenty far away from each other.

Appreciate the helpful comments ;) 👍
