When you installed your lift on your 40 how many and which casters did you use? I installed my lift on my 40 and i didn't install casters and i want to fix that. Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

Jason

4 Degree shims up front, none in rear. I am running a shackle reversal with 1-1/2" O.S. shackles in front. 2-1/2" Rear. If you are stock with stock shackles, then a 2-2.5 will be okay in the front.

Hi All:

PM "Spotcruiser," he has been running the HFS suspension for the last few years.

In fact, he is about to drive his FJ40 to "Cruiser Moab" so it might take a few days for him to respond to your query! :D

Good luck!

Alan

No shims. No problems. :)

I believe the only time you will need a shim is when you are running extended shackles. 1.5" = 2-4degree / 3" = 6 degree

On the 78 40 I just picked up, it has 3" shackles and no shims,(wanders a bit) so Im going with 4 degree shims on it.

Well i am going to take my rig over to Baertrax here in Dallas and have the work done. Thanks guys for all the help.

shims

CCOT told me I would not need shims with stock shackles, I have not road tested that yet at any speed higher than 20 mph around the block though

4 deegrees front and rear

HFS 4" extended shackles CCot said it didn't need shims but it did, rides nice now, but emergency brake cable doesnt fit into front mount under drivers side. Gonna fix soon.....
