The factory headlights and fog lights on the 200 series Land Cruiser are just fine and there isn't any reason to change them unless you want to add auxiliary lights in the factory bumper. Choosing to remove the factory fog lights and make a custom mounting plate for Rigid Dually's or any similar cube LED light. This is a write up on what I did to add a couple of extra lights to a stock front bumper cover.

Pictures of fog light opening. The opening measures 4 inches by 10 inches and plenty of room behind the bumper.

After purchasing a 2008 LC, a good companion to the 2003 LC, and wanting to put additional lights up front in place of the fogs. I got a few measurements and originally planned for 3 pairs of LED cubes (6 cubes total) in the factory fog light locations. And they would have fit but there wasn't going to be much room for adjustments while on the vehicle so I left one pair out.

The mounting plate is 4"x4" aluminum angle one quarter inch (1/4) thick. It is bolted directly on top of the aluminum bumper tube. I had to find the proper angle to mount the aluminum bracket and still be able to put the light bolts through without interference front the bumper tube. I took off and put back on the bumper cover 4 or 5 times here and on and off a total of 10 times.

The wiring was real easy by utilizing the harnesses, relay and wires that came with one of the light cubes and I chose to add a 6 post blue sea fuse block. I also used the factory fog light wiring cutting the connections off and adding the Rigid connections with water tight splices to the pair of SAE LED fog lights. Using the fuse block means I don't need the inline fuse from the loom for the spot lights, so it got cut out. Drilled through the firewall and used a rubber gromit. Drilled a hole in one of the blank plates driver left and installed the switch. All of the wires got covered with wiring loom and secured well.

No dice on pictures. But I was thinking of doing something similar on mine. I also have 20 and 28 inch E2 bars if you wanted to really up the lumens, let me know. I'm thinking of selling them so I can buy some XL D series for fog light replacements

Nice man, my fogs are really worn. I replaced my headlight lenses, but something needs to be done with the fogs. Good write up.

Thanx for the write up. Great idea that I'm sure a few of us will try.

Cool mod! How is the light - before vs. after?

I like the SAE fog lights. I had not seen these before and wanted a LED that can be used on the road without blinding oncoming traffic. These are twice as bright as the stock fog lights.

Rigid SAE fogs only

For the hyperspot... its a focused light ;)

Nice job! I like it!
Was it difficult to pop off the bumper cover so many times? I'd be worried that I'd break a clip or something along the way. I have found my patience level has dramatically diminished over the past 10 years.....

Those clips are a pain. About to order a bunch of replacement clips to keep on hand...

There are really only two clips on the bumper cover itself and I wouldn't blink an eye at taking it on and off 20 more times. However, all of the clips from the radiator cover were very brittle and broke a few of those clips. I ended up leaving that piece off after finishing. Also the clips on the grille are kind of hard to get to so take your time there. There is one electrical connection that has to be disconnected from the bumper cover and one hose quick connect for headlight washers. When disconnecting the hose be sure to have a plug to prevent washer fluid from flooding your workspace.

I had the same size Rigids, in amber, on my old truck --loved them! Big fan of their products.

Your setup turned out very well! Do you activate the lights using the factory fog light switch on the stalk?

Mark - what is the part number for those clips. I searched across the internet and get 3 different part numbers

Which clips? I have at least three different clips for the bumper (blue, brown and black plastic clips). Happy to share what I have.

Hey Ken,
Will need to know exactly which clips. There are a zillion... Old thread and I can’t remember. It’s amazing how many funky clips there are all over the truck.
