Damn, when I searched I did not find this thread. I'm sorry if I provided the wrong information as I brought up the EP35 in another thread. From my reading, all Toyota's used this in the late 90's, but I guess I'm wrong. I wonder if that one on SBL will still work. At least we know it's an 8 pin now.
Just to update for those that need to know what flasher relay works for LED turn signals:
I bought flasher relay part number: CF18-08 from superbrightleds.com
This is an 8 pin flasher relay for some Toyota/Lexus/Scion vehicles and it will cure the rapid flashing problem. This is a plug and play relay.
To be absolutely clear, a 3 prong flasher relay (EP35) will not work on the UZJ100 platform even though that's what auto part stores sell as a direct fit.

Is this relay in same location as later 100s? I have 2007.
The flasher relay comes out easy. My trick was to take a long 1/4" extension, feed it through, put on a 10mm swivel socket on, and take out the 10mm screw from the bracket. That was much easier than taking apart the dash. If you chose to take apart the dash, it's still awkward to get to because of a white piece of plastic that is screwed in from the back if I recall.
Well I just wasted well over an hour of my life trying to remove the bracket that holds the flasher relay before I realized you can just pry/slide the relay off of the bracket. Ended up with a handful of long screwdrivers that I will never use again and one extremely stripped screw. I just could not get the bit to fit straight into the screw by feeding it through by the steering column. Ended up pulling off the relay and zip tying the new one right back onto that still-in-place stubborn bracket. Had I been smarter it would have been a 5-10 minute job.

I left the original flasher in place, and only connected the connector to the new flasher. So just in case and as a backup, I can easily switch back to the original one:

That's even better thinking. The adjustable option is interesting. It does seem like the relay I bought is slightly slower than the factory setting. Not a big deal but you notice it.

I didn't realize I was going to have to dive behind the dash. Maybe I'll wait for some dash bulbs to go out first......I don't have fond memories of this project on the 80. The turn signals may have to go on the back burner.

FYI, purchased and installed this relay today in a 03 LX. Finding the relay was easy but didn't bother to remove the old one. Simply plugged in the new one and zipped tied. Can't see why you would spend all the time to remove the bracket unless you just want to do it for the sake of doing it. Took about 15 min.
Also, running ARB led turn signals in the front with halogens in the rear, works as expected but the first flash upon signal lasts a tiny bit longer the rest. Something like 1s 0.5s 0.5s etc regardless of hazards or blinkers being turned on. Thinking this might be because of the halogens in the back, but no proof. Probably going to swap those out eventually and will update if it fixes the slight delay.
I actually took the housing apart and turns out the new LED relay flasher fits perfectly into the OEM housing, that way I could bolt it back onto place and it looks stock as anything.

It's hidden up in there pretty good. I had the lower dash apart and the HVAC duct out for some other wiring project.

Do the hazards and turn signals share the same flasher relay or are they separate? My hazard light flash but the turn signals don’t. Fuses all look ok.
