Flasher relay location?

Just like the title states anybody know the location of the flasher relay? I searched to no avail...the question has been asked with no answer. The cruiser is an 06 and I want to change everything to LED's but need to swap the flasher for the turn signals. It is not in the fuse box. I plan on purchasing an FSM but would like to get the led order in the pipes.
 
My emergency flasher doesn't function when the KK is connected. So I bought a HD flasher but damned if I could find it! I too am interested in knowing just where the secret hiding spot is for this ;)

I've got the same/similar EWD with location shown. But just try to find it where they show its supposed to be!
 
Impressive that you two guys can't find the location.....

I didn't realize I was going to have to dive behind the dash. Maybe I'll wait for some dash bulbs to go out first......I don't have fond memories of this project on the 80. The turn signals may have to go on the back burner.:meh:

I havent looked for it more than spending a few seconds with the flasher on poking around...the sound is helpless. Spress, pretty sure it's the same file. MAYBE I'll get bored one night and pull apart this 05 and see if I can find it!

Same here. Apparently you really need to pull the instrument/gauge cluster to get to where its hiding. Never had a vehicle where the flasher wasn't in a super easy location for replacement. Maybe that speaks to the quality of this flasher...as Toyota engineers apparently felt it was a lifetime part.

nope. put your head next to the dead pedal, with the brake pedal touching your head, look up....you'll see the flasher. Now if I only had some tools here, I'd remove it and see what kind of flashers are inside.
 
EDIT: this is from a 2005, not sure if the 2000 is different. Might be, considering all the little things that they tweaked over the years that I've been noticing.

Used the wrench n screwdriver that comes in the "toolkit" :rolleyes: and got it out. Pictures.


FYI: I removed the covers on the flashers...these do not look like a standard PnP replaceable unit.

Warren, this is the one the guy at AutoZone sold me about a year ago. Somehow I doubt if its the right one...but given the source of the part what more could I expect! :rolleyes:

Well at least the 2 links I posted are cheap, one even in the US with free shipping, what the quality is like, who knows.
On another note, I emailed a big seller on ebay the other day about his thermo fans, all sizes had the same cfm rating, I asked for actual ratings for the different sizes, his reply was as follows
"No i dont know, all the fans are from the same factory and we are all just guessing to out do each other."
So of course, you never know what you are really going to get, especially with Chinese electrical ratings!

I know I'm getting old, and my eyes are poor, sorry I did not see "MADE IN TAIWAN" on the items.
However, what I did see was all the sellers on ebay selling the same product come from Hong Kong, USA, Taiwan etc. etc..
I did not discover where the product was made, or whether is was made in and ISO9002 certified factory etc. etc.. (Not that the listing location has anything to do with where they are made, or the fact that they say they are ISO certified actually means anything)
I believe Taiwan & Hong Kong are still parts of China, and are HUGE mailing houses for them.
So, back to my original statement,
"So of course, you never know what you are really going to get, especially with Chinese electrical ratings!"
I hope you get a continuous 150 WATTS out of them, but from many of my experiences, somewhere along the way Chinese WATTS don't seem to be as efficient as Australian/UK/USA WATTS!
 
Good call on checking superbrightleds. It looks like the correct one for the later models, still need to confirm on the early model trucks since they along with everyone else who sells the same flasher state "newer toyotas".

If superbright is selling the same product it should be relatively reliable, everything else I've bought from them has worked well.
