Has this been done with some success? I have the rims but they appear to need quite some hefty spacers at the back. Any advise?
Thanks

The previous owner for my BJ70 had a set of FJ Cruiser steelies. Spacers were needed in the front (only). I've still got them and they're basically like new.

I have a set of alloys, the ones with the round holes. I think it fits a 265/65R17 tyre. Are they the same offset as the steelies? What size were your spacers?

I'm running FJC 17" steelies. Ideally you need spacers in the front, but I've been avoiding full lock in parking lots, and haven't had an issue.

I am trying to keep a mental note on who has 77s on here. Looks like a nice rig.

The front seems okay but the rear looks like it might need some spacing. The rim is about 40 mm from the frame on the rear axle.

IME the issue was the rebuildable Toyota drag link end contacting the inside of the rim when turning.

Finally got them fitted.

And the drag link is most definitely a problem. I can't turn left more than a couple of degrees. I'm going to try spacers and take it from there.

IF you are going spacer then check the spacer to original stud for proper penetration. i have found most spacers are now allowing the original wheel nuts to get proper thread use. this could lead to stripped threads and or broken studs.
you can get longer studs and if your spacer is causing an issue then install them.

just a word of caution

Got that,I found a source for spacers that bolt onto the original studs and has another set of studs that the wheel bolts onto. They only have 30mm available so I hope that works.
