Hello everyone.

Just purchased a 92 FJ80. :) It's a little rough, but still a Landcruiser.
I'll try to keep it brief, but; First of all I owned a 40 series for about 7 years, until family got too big, so I have worked on these plenty.
Anyway.

After we bought this one I knew I had to bleed the brakes, but found instead the front calipers were frozen. Bought new calipers and hoses for the front end. Previous owner said he repl. the Master cyl before we got it. Started bleeding brakes, found also have to bleed proportioning valve. I know bleeding brakes is not too hard and have done it many times but can't seem to get a (what I consider to be) proper pedal height. Crusier stops but pedal is very low.
I'm sure I've not done something properly.

Please any help would be great.

Chris

Have you checked the brake pedal freeplay? Not sure if it would help but just a thought

My money is on the new master not being bench bled before install :)

Thanks all.

I tore down my M/C found it to be ok. No broken springs, crosshatch pattern in bore, seals in new condition. Seems to be what P.O. said.

I bled system from furthest to closest wheel then the LSPV. If this is incorrect then tell me. Also when I bled the front calipers, I got one good bleed out of them and then just dribble; I can bleed the back all day with no problems though.:frown:

Haven't bled after M/C teardown yet, too tired and hot last night.

Thanks again.

Chris
