FJ60/62 Wiper Motor Access Cover - NLA - Best Replacements? (4 Viewers)

Hey all,

I cracked one of the black plastic access covers when I was cleaning out the cowl last. When I went to order a new one from here: 55729-90A00 Cover, Wiper Motor Service Hole Toyota | YoshiParts - https://yoshiparts.com/es/parts/toyota-5572990A00, it came back as NLA.

The part is 55729-90A00.

It's a difficult one to search for online, has anyone found a good used replacement or aftermarket one?

www.sor.com is out of stock. You might call them or cruiserparts.net or try vehicles being parted out in the MUD classified section. These are called Covers for wiper motor service access.

The ones on the FJ60 are metal. I'm not sure if they will fit as they seem to be a different shape (picture below taken from facebook).

Wow, I thought they were shared between the FJ60 and FJ62, I'll bet I could change them out to 60 style metal covers with some new screw hole, that seems like a better long term solution. The plastic the 62 ones are made of gets hard and prone to breaking to get them off.

If no one is already making a replacement we could model a flat panel that snaps in if people are interested.

I'd definitely be interested and happy to pre-order as well since development takes time. I haven't seen a readily available replacement for this in my search.
