Take lots of pictures. Especially the 4 door cruiser if he has one. See what he says about the cost of making complete bodies these days given the economic climate.

He's already offered to reproduce the complete FJ45LV body if I can get mine to him but my budget doesn't allow for that kind of expense, as much as I might like it.

If I had to I could put the LV together enough to drive down there in a few weeks but I just can't see it financially for me anyways.

The rear sill is now with Paul for him to work his magic. I'm still in awe having seen the miracles he and his guys work in metal. He specifically requested that I not post pictures on 'mud though, (trade secrets maybe :) ). Rest assured he and his guys can make just about anything and it looks like new! A "new" HJ45 troopy was in process with all new metal.

If you are interested in a rear sill for the tailgate area PM me and I'll put you on the list (price to be decided once the first one is made). Paul figures he'll have the prototype in a week and I've already agreed to go back down at the end of May to pick up whatever is there and bring them up personally to the states by mid June.

Paul has just called and the rear sill is finished. He'll be sending me some pic's in a day or so and once he's worked out costs I'll let everyone know and we can go from there.

I'm not sure at this point on this summer for delivery as I broke my ankle and tore the ligaments on Friday evening (not fun).

Stay tuned!

Ouch!! Not fun for sure. Did you get any hardware installed? I got two screws in my ankle two years ago. Looks cool on the x-ray :).

Yep, got some more hardware! Apparently there is a plate and a few screws to hold things together.

Charles, sorry to hear about your accident. hope all is well. Paul

At this point it appears that for the sills, shipping will be FOB Costa Rica or Guatemala unless folks don't mind waiting till 2010. I think due to my broken ankle our summer drive is not going to happen.

Paul, what is the ETA for our rear quarters?

wired the $$'s to Ehsan, he emailed me and said he would get ahold of the shipping company after the weekend. so hopefully they will be in transit shortly.

I've got no problem waiting until 2010 for my sill, as I won't get to it until then anyway.

You mean sills don't you Charles? It must be the pain meds. :) I can relate having just gone thru the hernia surgery. As for shipping. I sure hope Ehsan is shipping soon. I do not want to wait til 2010, for quarters or sills. I understand if others have time, but I would like to finish this truck in my lifetime. I guess I could always take the expensive route and have a single item shipped vs. with a group. Because it is weight based, maybe it does not matter? Charles, hope you are feeling better. I bet you will heal faster than you think. Bones mend pretty fast and you are not one to sit still for long. Cheers.

Yep, I'm talking sills for 2010, if they are sent via me. I had planned to go pick up sills before my trip north but now with the broken ankle I can't drive anywhere. If we get a few sills ordered then maybe shipping a group won't be too bad. I plan to go pick up my sill in August when my ankle is back in operation. Paul Pilgrim has called to say it is ready already!!

Paul, "3_puppies", is looking after getting the quarters from Ehsan. From his previous post the shipping funds have been wired and now we are waiting on Ehsan to get them shipped. Let's hope that happens before the Taliban invade Pakistan! Once the quarters arrive in the states Paul will reship from Helena, MT.

any idea on $$'s for the sills?

I'll keep you all updated on my end, I have to work 1 maybe 2 more weeks out of town, then I should be home for a few weeks.

OK, I now have pricing and photos for the sills. The original plan was to have these made up so I could bring them with me this summer when I drive up to the states. Unfortunately I broke my ankle almost two weeks ago so I'm not able to drive down to Costa Rica and pick these up and courier costs within Central America are stupid expensive. I can however order them and then pick them up and ship them in August from Guatemala or Costa Rica.

These are made up as copies from the sill from my '67 FJ45LV. The upright next to the tailgate has been left high to facilitate fitting and the final spot weld in that upright has been left out to allow minute width adjustments as well. Those who ordered the rear quarters will notice that the extreme right and left corners are also in the quarters so there is sufficient material to make the joints.

Cost is $375/ea plus shipping.

I plan to pick up the original which I had made plus whatever ones folks order and pay for, by August. Lets set August 1 as the cut off date for this group order. If you want one, PM me for payment information. These are made up on a "paid up" basis ONLY. Don't expect me to have stock on these.

Shipping my be me flying these up stateside as a group one weekend in September to a hub like Houston or Atlanta or by courier, whichever is cheaper.

More pics coming as I get them downloaded and resized.
