Hi guys, new to the forum, I've been reading it for a while, have found that people over here have lots of knowledge about Toyota FJ series, which is a great source of information and motivation.
English is not my native lenguage, so I apologize to you all if make grammar mistakes.
The reason for this post if to hear from you guys if these cars are worth the shot, since I came by and have an opportunity to buy one of them.
I bought the 1981 model for around $4200 dollars, with papers and other things that comes around the car can easily cost around 5500 USD, but over here these cars have lots of use, in countryside, working in petroleum companies and even for restorers. I know the car is pretty rusted and has a lot of k's on his engine, but with a little TLC it can be put back to the road and I don't need it for parades, the main purpose of my purchase was to work with it.

The second one is a 1976 model, it's been treated badly I suppose, since one rear axle is broken, the gearbox is kicking off the gears, the engine has to be redone (I don't mind since I'd like to put a diesel on it if I buy it) and the other thing are papers with customs but can be done. The asking price is around $1600 dollars but adding papers and shipping the price can reach the $3000 dollars. I know it's a little steep for a car that has to be done mechanically and bodywork but since they have winch and metalic bed (lots over here have wood bed) it's nice to see one in original condition.

What you guys think? Is it worth it? In my family we've had various Toyotas, my dad still has a 1980 FJ43 and my uncle has a 1978 FJ40 and I can think of other several fjs. Since 40's and 43s are pretty common over here, 45's aren't and that's the reason I want to buy this second one to restore it.
