Wanted FJ40

Wanted- 1975-1978 FJ40. 2F engine, hard top, and ambulance doors. I’m looking for a project. willing to spend around 10k or so. depending on condition. Would like minimum rust if possible. I’m located in Arizona. Thank you for your time.

Hey @cruiserboy14 - I just started getting serious about finding one myself. Will post separately, but I wish you good luck.
I'm in Durango, CO and looking for one to do my first "frame-off" restoration in my life. I've convinced the wife that if I can find one for the right price, it could a family project that we coulid "not lose money on" (I know, right)

I'm looking for anything from 70-80, though. If I come across any that don't fit my certain needs or price, I'll send it your way.

I don't think we're the only ones that have this idea, but there are still some gems out there, I have faith!

Just an observation, but It might be helpful for you guys to list your budget range ( if you have one )
“Project” can be fairly subjective, as some people have more tools in the toolbox than others.

So if you say you’re looking for <10k or <5k or >10k you might get some leads depending...

as far as project, minor rusr repair, part hunting, and reassembly are fun to me. also I have a background in jet aircraft electrical wiring so that's not scary. ill even give a go at an engine rebuild. I just am not really prepared for rust rot that some are so skilled in remedying.

So you like to travel ? I am getting ready to sell one 1975 Freedom red FJ40 4 speed factory bucket seats,Hardtop, 2f motor ,,Actually it would come with an Extra 2F motor 4 speed and transfer case. Yes 2 motors ,2 transfercases 2 4 speeds. Has minor rust around rear tail light areas.

Has the factory roll bar ,rear heater, new bikini top, has aftermarket wheels set #1 I also have another set of Toyota SR5 chrome wheels with new tires .

It would come with a factory Jack and jack rods...Please check classified part post under my name .Crockett I am selling 15-20 years of parts.

Why 2 motors the one needs to be rebuilt. The other 2F I pulled ,ran great,has Centerforce clutch..

And yes,this has Ambulance doors.


Location Washington State..........Price with non running motor $10..With extra motor /tranny combo 4 speed $11,500

As I said I have another set of basically new ,never mountd tires and wheels.

Check out Craiglist Bozeman. There's one up there for 12k thar is a 77 and pretty nice. Current owner replace rear floor pan with flat steel plate, but other than that it seems dialed.

Not mine, but looks interesting. You'd have to ask what 'missing title' means.
