Looking for throttle linkage for my ‘74 FJ40. I have the pedal for linkage and am thinking about using a city racer carb, but I’m lacking everything in between.

Thanks!

I have this, missing a rod.

That looks like the second iteration Kevin. 2F. The first iteration in ‘74 would have different standoff points because the F engine carb plenum is closer to the head. Almost an inch closer.

Not saying it won’t work. Might work with some tinkering. And I’m sure your ‘garage’ price is much better than my ‘shop overhead’ price.

When I installed a 2f with a 77 or so manifold in my 74 I didn’t realize that the 74 setup was slightly different until I was hooking up carb linkage that was the original for the 74. I was trying to figure out what the hell was going on and then remembered reading here on Mud about the 2f manifolds sit about an inch further from the block.

Thanks for all in help everyone. I didn’t realize my F.5 linkage was different then the later.

If anyone has everything together for a 74 let me know. I’m needing the vertical rod that connects from the pedal up to the horizontal rod, the horizontal rod, the small rod at the end and the carb end bracket. Only parts I don’t need are the petal and firewall bracket where the vertical and horizontal links come together.

Thanks!

Just to update this thread I’ve found everything I needed. Thanks everyone.

hi ....

perhaps there a few important key items parts topics you may have over looked on your 1974 set up you now have ..?

- your fire wall bracket it metal , every single other part on it related to it is a weal and tear age and time part most of all the 3 different black grommet bushings

- the period correct return spring

- the gas pedal boot , on fire wall , 1 ' DINE " size hole , you will have dead smell mice terds in your nice 74 for life , nesting in a blower motor fan , that u the pull the fan pull , is instant Walking Dead mouse guts everywhere in July , that is a bad thing .....
