The hoses coming off the bottom of the fuel separator connect to the 3 ports on the top of the fuel tank. See connections circled in green. Does it matter what order or port they connect to or can the three hoses from the bottom of the fuel separator connect to any of the 3 circled ports on the fuel tank?

It is a 5/1977 FJ40 with stock emissions set-up.

Thanks!
Jeff

Took a pic of mine before pulling the tank to clean up and repaint the floorboard. Pretty sure this was the original setup since I found an original key under the tank

This is exactly what mine looks like and I'm about to replace it all since I'm "in there" already. Can y'all confirm the hose sizes? It seems like 5/16" is correct for the 3 hoses on the separator as well as the 4th hose on top. What about the braid covered, equalizing hose pictured? Is that 1/2" or 5/8"? Best source for the filler hose? CCOT has an aftermarket one that isn't expensive. OEM is still available but rings up at around $40 without shipping. Thanks.

Correct on the 5/16”, but I can’t recall on the larger braided line because I think I found a piece of hose I already had that fit just fine. I replaced my filler line with one sourced from SOR, had to trim it some to get a nice fit.

Yes 5/16" is correct size hose for these lines.

As for the braided hose line, if you are looking for some braided hose I have some extra from what I bought from amazon.
Amazon product ASIN B01N29WNLLIf you want just a piece of it I can probably send some if you want to send a few $ for shipping. Otherwise you could use just regular hose or buy the stuff directly from Amazon.

Where does the line coming from the top of the separator go?
I’ve slept since I did that project so I need to check, IIRC that line may run the the charcoal canister. I can take a lot tomorrow if needed.

resurrecting and old thread - I am doing a little work on my truck (2/76) and found that one of the three plastic vent ports is broken with out enough to securely connect to a hose. while I look for a unit in better shape - any issues with me blocking the broken port and running the 2 hoses through a T fitting into one of the other ports as a temp fix?

Hey guys, I've got a '76 and about to install the missing fuel separator. I'm not under the impression mine had a charcoal canister, so where would I be running the vent hose from the top of the new separator? I see that it runs under the passenger seat and into the engine bay, but where from there?
