Is this route only going through the US? It would be sweet to make it up into canada and along the Trans canada highway runs coast to coast.

I was wondering if it was headed to British Columbia and points north. Maybe Alaska? Or across Canada...:hmm:

Im in Sask and would have no prob doing part of the leg across it. Not alot of cool spots this time of year though

Yeah, I was wondering, in the spirit of historical "expeditions", if the baton shouldn't winter over and start again when the weather is more conducive to travel and photos and such? Having a 12 hour daylight window and copious amounts of rain and gray does not lend itself well to showcase our wonderful sights.

Torfab might be a good wintering hideout?

Since we have 3 batons, I think they should keep going in whatever direction the expedition will go
Wherever and whenever, if we keep moving them along, maybe one will show up in the SW sometime tjat is not in tje heat of summer
i know there are alot of 40 owners who do not know of this epic quest we ate on . I am sure there are some who could noy schedule the time or did not have rig running that would like to see it come around again. would like tp see it come to mr again when temps were not 100+. I say if any make it to #hecrod that he just sends it on
IMHO

Anyone have a handle on where all three are at the moment? Or a map of the route they have taken? I'm all for keeping them moving it will just be a pretty bland trip through some beautiful country if we keep it going in the PNW. If we could pick and chose our days and say "go" on a nice day that would be one thing. But if we shoot for a schedule, as most of us have to, it will likely be a drizzly hand off. I will do as the group wishes but my 40 likes sunny days and dry pavement whenever we can get it. I'm in.

I agree. I really wanted to go along the coast and thru the redwoods but I can't do it in a one week time frame. It is a shame because it might be some of the most beautiful part of our state! I don't know who makes this decision! Any thoughts?

This is all volunteer so if you can’t make the travel work, that’s okay. We thought it would wrap up in 2017 hence he decal but if this keeps going in perpetuity I’d be cool with that. Had a lot of fun and I’m sure I can find a different route to take the next time around. :)

After I posted I thought everyone was probably thinking of all the spots they could of visited. I know I was thinking it was a shame we didn't take it thru the Rubicon and Fordyce! We need to start another thread and just post all the cool places our 40's visit. I am going to keep my leg moving forward this week. I think it would be neat if we could at least get it to the Canada border before the first of the year!!!

The briefcase is with @Reznugget in Chinle, AZ. I had it for quite a while and took it on a great road trip to the Solid Axle Summit in Ouray, CO.

So you could have bookend BJ42 experiences. I will drive my '81 BJ42 3B-T. Mine is LHD (canadian). Then the Seattle BJ42... Nice.

I will post up when I have solid plans for Roseburg. From there I can plan the next leg.

Cheers.

Are you in the position to have a passenger to and from Roseburg? I'm between Albany and Jefferson, in the I-5 area, about 1 1/2 hours south of Portland where I-5 crosses the Columbia. My 40 is not driveable, but if possible I would enjoy being part of the baton run for this area.

I wonder if it is possible to put the routes they have taken on a map so we could see everywhere they have been...

And actually I can put this together if everyone sends me their routes...

I am definitely game for keeping it moving. We have some British Columbia folks as well as lots of bodies headed back east from here. It would be cool to have it continue into the following year. I'd like to see the briefcase head this way as well. This is a very cool thing.

Hey all, I just got back from being deployed to help out in Puerto Rico. I need to get my signals working and I'll be ready to drive and work on handing off!
