Good evening everyone. So I found a Land cruiser near me. The vin on the chassis says FJ2520306L and the engine block is stamped F120852. The seller is telling me that it is a 1981 40 series with a 2f engine. He has no title for it. Correct me if I am wrong but Vin starting FJ25 is pre 1960 and engine block starting with just "F" is an F engine. I cannot find information on FJ25 vin numbers or engine codes. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Vin states it’s a 1960 fj25.
Do you have a picture of it? And the engine is super easy to tell the difference between a 2f and 1f by looking at it. Valve cover is the easiest glance to say 2f 1f.

Are the rear wheel cutouts round?

A 1981 FJ40 would have the gas tank under the Cruiser, and a 2F in it. Interested to see what it is.

Parts rig. SA import with no title? Don’t know how Florida is but unless it’s cheap and going thru paperwork isn’t bad in Florida I wouldn’t touch it for anything other than parts. It’s a late model body 79 or newer. frame looks to be a 25 just from vin. But the steering center link would be a way to tell if it’s an early frame and also if it has the centered rear axle. If original but with everything I would doubt it

Thanks for the input. Appreciate it
