Is there any way to tell if the Odometer on an FJ-40 has gone past 99,999? Maybe by how the numbers line up?

A CarFax report can show entries of the miles accumulated over time through the years. Not sure if the report will work for something as old as an FJ40 though.

Won't work with a six digit odometer. Carfax only goes back the 81 model with seventeen digit VIN. Prior to that CarFax does not know in the system. 81 model is when the odometer added another digit and read over 99999.9

I would say no. And having taken one apart, cleaned it, and put it back together; it's very easy to put it on any number you want.
