so we were looking at my 40 and I've noticed that the right rear tire appeared to be closer to the tub than the left tire. I figured it was because my tub was custom fabbed and was not quite square. Turns out the rear springs are different sizes. measured from center pin to spring hanger and one is longer than the other. So we checked the front. You guessed it they are different from left to right to. So I've got two sets of matching springs , just not on the same axle. Pretty sure its been that way since I got the rig. never thought to check mesurements. So here's the big question: what spring goes where? My truck has 4" lift springs so the measurement may be a little different but I need to know which springs are front and which are rear. From the center pin to the shackle looks the same (roughly 22" ) but two of the springs are longer from center pin to spring hanger. Any help would be great. Guess that might be part of the "pulling to one side" problem huh! LOL.................... Dont laugh too hard , remember what I started with! And where we are now!

Front springs should have more leafs than the rear.

you sure about that? I know that isn't the case with my old man emu's I have on the 40 now.......or atleast I think it isn't:hhmm:

I'm not positive about lift springs but usually the more leafs are on the front due to the weight of the engine.

Parabolics are not like that.

What I would do is look at my shackle angle. Shackle angle should be able to tell you what goes where.

are both ends military wrap? Military wrap should be on the shackle end.

Or measure the distance from center pin to each end, the shorter goes to the hanger, the longer to the shackle end.

Look at the rear axle and decide which tire looks like it in the right spot and them make the other spring match.

We got it figured out. The Right rear tire needs to move back, so we'll make that happen.
No double wrap on either end, unfortunatly
