Finding "Black Pearl / Black Chrome" emblems and badges for my FZJ80 Collector's Edition

I got a tailgate one from Dan in one of my recent boxes of stuff.

The tailgate resin badge w/ Toyota Land Cruiser in it (didn't ask about others) - plan to respray my gate & fix the rust/seal that always stains paint.
I know I thought it was a few $$ too much (like always), but I got it w/o issue & planned to weld in the holes for the sombrero/bean one.
Holes? Mine came with no badges, and no holes. The previous owner is not the kind of guy who would have welded up the holes and smoothed them over. So what’s the deal -– some were through-mounted, some were stuck on?

Does anyone currently reproduce these (front badge, three rear badges) in black pearl?

I saw someone was making new collectors edition decals a year or two ago. Not sure if they still make them though.

What about correct 40th anniversary fender badges?

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

As far as I know I am the only one making tailgate badge replicas in black pearl or chrome.

These are laser cut and assembled by hand, and awesome if you want custom lettering.

They are not a perfect match to the oem emblems.

Can you provide better pictures of your emblem?

Bringing this one back from the dead. The PO painted all my Black Pearl emblems on my 40th Anniversary Edition solid black. Does anyone have any leads on either replacement emblems (front sombrero, rear sombrero, rear hatch, etc) or any paint options that actually replicate the Black Pearl look?

The ‘white whale’ people chase for resto - projects is the ~18” x 2” tall resin sticker
that is the printed “Toyota Landcruiser “ - on the upper hatch lip.

IDK if the black pearl emblems are NLA (sorta expect it) - but some quality sand/self etching primer & a deep bronze / almost black in a rattle-can would do just fine.

If you want to get super pickey, automotive paint stores will custom mix any color you want & add propellant.

Not cheap - It’s around 3-4x the $$$ of off-the-rack cans.

But the big back resin badge was ~$300 all day long something like a decade back when I raffled a NIB one for a fundraiser.

I still get PM’s over it, people want the back badge.

Yes, I'd love the Black Pearl back badge if one is ever reproduced. Our best bet may end up being this:

Also, I found this post and ordered some of the paint they suggested. Fingers crossed!

We'll see how it works out!

@LINUS
You mean this one

I still have it. Just cleaning out my garage where I have had it hanging on the wall as a talisman.

Was just out your way delivering a kid for his junior year, had to go with him as he had some surgery immediately before returning due to bad mountain bike crash. So dad got to help doing all the moving into a new apartment in a last minute arranged whirlwind visit.

Looks like you have had an interesting fall with your own adventures, hope you are on the mend.

@JOFS - I admit I get a little jealous seeing it, but $$ went to a good guy, plus I had my decade w/ it on the bookshelf on the top of all my Landcruiser & BMW books/receipts 😎

Somebody will finally decide they “need” it.

And if ol’ Johnathan PM’s you, you can have the fun of telling him it’s worth a straight 40 hood, since he bought so many last I saw the price had doubled & that was ~8 years ago.

Hope your son heals quickly & no permanent damage done.
