a whistle is much better than a rumble and cloud of smoke, in other words i got to go for a rip in the new improved cruiser today. i worked on it for about 8 hours yesterday, pulled the oil pan, welded in a threaded bung, installed a drain line for oil and feed line with a t at the sending unit, pulled the old exhaust apart and joined it to the turbo and then fabbed up the intake between the turbo and intake manifold. then today i installed the air filter and took it for a rip. wow what a difference, i dont have the fuel adjusted or the new exhaust "i'm replacing the old with 2.5" and a hushpower 2", or the new air intake, but what a difference. it's a definite improvement and really pics up around 2200 rpm but i can feel it at about 1200. i did also notice the exhaust to be quieter and got the boost up to about 16 psi at close to 3000 rpm. now to answer questions: i did use a blockoff plate for the old exhaust port, bought the merkur turbo off ebay for about $220 said and done, theres actually a fair amount of room still in the engine compartment of my 83 bj60. pics tonight
