Happy to see you add this to your lineup & that you were able to work out a deal with Brendan.Hey y'all! Way back in 2017 on page 12 of this thread @BigRiggs posted about his nifty little adapter to get your old "Toyoda" cap on the Saginaw reservoir cap. I ordered one from him a while back and then got to talking. We worked things out to where I'll now be selling these through my web shop. Current production will be a cast urethane resin. Brendan's 3D prints worked great for me, but the new product is a little more heat tolerant and maybe a slight bit more grippy. It's also now keyed to the raised "T" section of the Toyoda cap for a little better transfer of the turning force. New and improved I guess, but not to downplay the good work Brendan put into the original.
You can find those on my web shop here.
As with before, you have to bring your own Toyoda cap to this party, along with the Dorman 82581 cap for the Saginaw pump. I will include detailed instructions with every order to help you through getting the Toyoda cap liberated from the dipstick portion - that can be a real pain.
Alright, I'll hand the thread back to Georg now!

Absolutely Georg- the thought already occurred to me and you were on my to-do list. I’ll be in touch.Happy to see you add this to your lineup & that you were able to work out a deal with Brendan.
I’m thinking that maybe we should stock a few of these so we can offer them with the conversion kit. That way our customers can get everything for the kit from us instead of having to deal with multiple vendors and shipping charges.
Thoughts?! Send me a text and tell chat!

Question: any ideas on how to find one of the original caps? I guess I could buy someone's old steering pump just to harvest the cap but that sems like such a waste. My wife somehow bounced my original T cap off of my adaptor plate, super bummer. I thought it was so tightly on there due to the friction alone there would be enough but I was wrong.Hey y'all! Ready when you are! I got a bunch on the shelf and I'm happy to send one.I don't think this has been posted yet.....I've had my Valley Hybrids @orangefj45 conversion for years now and it's been great. Just converted my front axle to 80 series and upgraded the steering box. I FINALLY added the magnetic filter I bought over a year ago.....the TECH:
I searched all my parts boxes knowing I had the right part. Final found it....the HAC bracket/holder is the PERFECT fit for this filter. I riveted it to the fender w ss rivets. Pretty cool.
@CruiserTrash Now I just need one of those cap converters.

Thank you! I’ll have to dig up my notes from that project to compare, but I’m 99% sure that’s the pulley I used. Narrower groove than stock, right?
Yes I think so....or at least it sits further in the pulley on the crank and alternator.....maybe same pulley size but the ps pump is not as deep? Hard to say, but mines been great since the upgrade.Thank you! I’ll have to dig up my notes from that project to compare, but I’m 99% sure that’s the pulley I used. Narrower groove than stock, right?
The Saginaw pump I’ve been using is a press fit shaft, not keyed. Bummer. This one is the correct belt width![]()
