I still think it made a huge difference closing that gap. I also use the storage inside for sun glasses and other crap too.

Just a heads up these are going for under 50 bucks on ebay now.
Clicking some old bookmarks and found these $46.99 shipped.
I still think these are the best option to "fill the gap" that I've seen yet.
Hows everyones holding up so far? Thanks again to the OP.

Mine is holding up great. Couldn't imagine driving without it anymore. I knew prices would go down. I paid $70 I think. This should have been Oem in the 80

Still there and holding up great. Same thoughts exactly, can not imagine how I use to drive without it.

On the 1st page there is a pic in which you will see that I mounted the factory cup holder under it. So I can have a total of 4 holders :)

Have a link by chance? I can't find it, thanks.

Looks like they're only $38 shipped now! Great bargain IMHO, much more comfortable driving now and the added storage is a bonus.

I removed the factory cup holder and just remounted it under the new arm rest. So far its been holding up great.

How did you remove the cup holder?

I think it just unscrews from the back side.

Mine arrived in the mail today. Went to install and the factory cup holder obstructs my preferred placement. Thought about just screwing the armrest into the cup holder.

I think it just unscrews from the back side.

Did not see screws backside, i.e. going into the holder from inside the console. I'll take another look.

I think that is what he meant by backside. You have to pull console out and get behind cup holder.

That was the ticket. Took off center console and gained access to the holy grail factory cup holder. Now, where to move it. Time to get creative. . .

Just got mine in today. Pulled off the tiny cup holder and drilled a couple holes on the metal bracket to mout the arm rest. Still a little flimsy since the supporting mount is plastic. might just cut up a 2x4 and stick it underneath and call it a day

Here is my install of the arm rest. I raised my arm rest a little higher than the center console because it felt a little too low for me

Looks good to me. ^ I installed mine so the rest lies a few inches above the console, too. I did not attach to the seat since I move the seat back and forth. I installed a couple weeks ago and it has held up fine, and I have treated it like a factory arm rest as far as putting my weight on it. I used the wing nuts as in the photo above but might replace them using lower profile screws with nuts on the backside just to make it smoother for reaching under the rest and/or better storage area.

I still haven't decided where to screw in the factory cup holder, if anywhere. My factory console lid is the simple plastic tray so I'm considering a cup holder or two lowered into the tray.
