Hi all. Newbie here and glad to finally have a FJ55 in the driveway. She's a 76' FJ55, pretty much stock. The previous owners haven't done much other than try to fix some of the typical rust spots and add wheels/tires/rack. Luckily she's a CA car so very minimal rust.

I have a whole list of mods or fixes I'd like to do, definitely with alot of help from the "stickies" in the tech forum here, but I'd like to keep her fairly stock w/o going too wild.
-First on the block is a Weber 38 carb to get her starting reliably with a little more kick.
-next maybe headers and exhaust
-I'd like to keep the tranny/drivetrain and F2 but tuned up
-hopefully power steering down the road
-don't want to mess w/ the suspension till I figure out how I want to drive her

That's a start for now. Glad to join the group and the forum and look forward to alot of Iron Pig trials and tribulations!

Old pics of the ride.. more to follow when I get them up!

Welcome sandpac :flipoff2: & I take it that you just got her? Don't you love the stares of the envious and the curious of such an unusual ride??!! Looking forward to hearing more about the interior/exterior condition and any more pics you can share!!

Welcome to the pig farm;p
You have come to the right place for good advice and help.

Pablo is right. Get your stock carb rebuilt by Chenowith(sic). Did mine about 10 yrs ago. Never had a bit of trouble with it.

Next to a carb rebuild, put in a Pertronix setup. Never, ever, change points again.

Welcome to the sickness!!! Nice looking start for your Pig! And just so you know I run 3 Webers, one on my FJ40 and one on each one of my 55's! I love 'em and I wheel the piss outta them no problems whatsoever...? Aaron
