Hi, here's context: I'm rebuilding a 5/1973 F engine. Old oil pump is discontinued, so I had to fabricate a new oil pump output line to make the new style oil pump fit. The new custom line fits great into the threaded hole, but there is another threaded hole next to it, and I cannot figure out what this hole is for. Anybody know?

I didn't think anything went in there, but it is threaded and seems very important so I thought I should ask on here. Please let me know what you know. Thank you!

dip stick?

Can’t help with your question, but sure looks like you’re doing a great job.

Sounds like a hole that needs no more attention :)

Hey thank you! You think it's supposed to be open then?

If it's for the oil bypass, I might not even need it because my new style oil pump has one built in.
Wrong. If you are using the external regulator and remote filter, that hole still needs to remain open.
