If you're looking to repaint any of the grey metallic color on the grill, headlight frames, or vents..... this is the exact color. It's a perfect match.

Rust-Oleum Metallic Flat Soft Iron

Purchased at Lowe's.

Thank you for posting this! I need to spruce up a few things. What kind of prep did you do? Did you sand and prime first? I never painted plastic.

I just washed it all thoroughly with soap and water, lightly sanded (400-600 grit) the grey color wherever I had a bump or flaking paint, washed it again... and then the meticulous part, using painter's tape and an Exacto knife to mask off the chrome.

Thanks for the tips... Looks like I've got another project added to my list.

That is a great tip, thanks. I need to repaint those rear quarter vents for sure. I'm afraid to peel the gaskets off though, they will probably break...

Garethsixty, I used mag wheel paint in 'Graphite' from Discount Auto Parts - just spent 10 mins searching the shed but couldn't find the spraycan... It was close enough for me as I did the headlight surrounds, grill, alloy wheels, and real side sliding window frames. Now there is no original colour to compare it to...

I'll have to try and track something down, maybe a calliper spray or touch up will do it also. It's that weird two tone fleck effect that's hard to replicate.

Looks great.

Here's what I used. I felt it had very good color match as well.

I have to do mine - great info on the paint colors.

What are you guys doing for the gaskets? They just crumble to pieces.

I used Charcoal Metallic grille paint (not sure of brand) and it matched perfectly. Many Japanese cars of the '80s (and domestic) had charcoal metallic recesses in the grille.

RE: gaskets - mine were pretty stiff and I soaked them (and the vent) in hot soapy water for a while and eased them off the D pillar vents. I had to be very careful not to break them.

Glad I could add something useful. I'm now trying to dial in on the perfect SEM vinyl color for the interior grey wheel well covers - mine are trashed. SEM 15303 graphite is a little light, although the cap color looked like a perfect match. I have 4 other candidates... will report back...
