As many of you have been eagerly anticipating our march expedition if fast approaching so it is time to get the details out to you guys.

Why: The idea is to break away from the standard offroading pattern of setting up camp in a large campground and hitting the trails only to return to the same camp at night such is typical in our recent Tellico and URE trips. This trip will leave behind the typical confinements of your usual ORV areas and embrace the true spirit of the LandCruiser in its search for adventure!!!! This a trip not to be missed and I assure you will leave you with lasting memories........... The general plan is to spend the better part of two days traversing old logging roads high and deep in the North Carolina mountains in hopes of never crossing the same trail twice and encountering no other 4x4's and humans other than oursleves!!! This trip is rich with natural beauty and will be full of great company and probaly some cruiser talk :D

Who: This ride is open to any Landcruiser or 4x4 for that matter; the trail is doable with a stock landcruiser. We want this to be a trip that all cruiser can attend regardless of "lift, tires, lockers and so forth"..... The trails we will be riding are old logging roads and for the most part don't require 4wd drive, but there will be challenging spots and there is the slight possibilty for "east-cost pinstriping" do to undergrowth on the trails in spots, but nothing that couldn't be buffed out :D. This will be a vary laid back ride great to bring the family out on and don't forget to bring the pups too, this place is dog heaven:D.

When: This expedition will take place March 17, 18, 19. We will have two meeting times Friday afternoon in East Laport, NC the times will be 3pm and 7pm. The early group will head up to set-up camp and get a fire roaring for the later groups arrival. The first group will be lead by myself while the second group will be lead by Andy Smith If one of these two meeting times does not work for you please PM me and we will work out a solution on individual needs. We will be off the trails by early afternoon Sunday March 19 barring any unforeseen difficulties.

Where: We will be meeting in East Laport, NC it is a tiny town. The actual meeting place will be the City park it is located a 1/2 mile north of the BP station and the intersection of Caney Fork rd. and NC 107. is you last chance to fill up for the trail ride, it does offer some supplies, but is rather limited and I would suggest either shopping for supplies before the trip or venturing the 10 miles noth on NC 107 in to Sylva NC where there is a Super Walmart.

If I have left out any information you need let me know, also please post up your expected arrival time, so that Andy and myself know who to expect so as not to leave anyone behind.

attached is a map of the meeting place......... see you there; JP Virgo!!!

marshall I will give you a call this evening...

Marshall,

Got your v/m after we got out of the woods this weekend. Called you back and left a v/m Sunday...

I gave JP your tape measure you left in my Cruiser after the GSP ride. I figured he'd see you before me.

Glad to see this is coming to fruition. I hope i can make it. Either way, if people enjoy the trip then perhaps when it gets a little warmer we can have two seperate trips at the same event. One for the wussys that don't want to get dirty or scratched but are more interested in sight seeing and riding up in the mountains and one for the adventurous type that don't mind real wheelin', mud, pulling some cable and a little east coast pin striping.

Again, thanks a TON! I hope you make it too. It's hard to please 'em ALL but
we all keep trying and appreciate your help.
Hope I see you there.

So what is it up there, 2 hour drive? Anybody leaving from the Upstate on Friday. I am still up in the air, trying to get off a half day on Friday. We'll see, If I can't get off probably won't come, don't want to drive all that way for just one night. Pictures look great, cool place. Nice work on the planning and map JP. Good job man.

Travis if you left greenville around 5ish you could make the 7pm meeting time, it should be right around two hours from greenville. Let us know what your schedule is, so that we can make sure you make this trip! It is going to be a good one and we'd love to have you there:D

Matt, as far as food goes, I figured it would be best to let everyone do their own thing this time, because honestly I am not sure how many people are going to show up. So bring whatever you want to cook either bring a camp stove or you can always roast hotdogs over the camp fire :D

David brings up a good point.......... we will be camping at close to 6,000ft friday night so it will be a little chilly :D I would imagine in the low to mid 20's...... so dress warm, but it should be sunny and warm for saturday!!

Ahh once again work gets in the way of fun....yall have fun, think of me sitting in meetings ALL day Sunday-Thursday

I promise you will be eating those words about 1 year into a "real" job out of college. Promise. :censor:

I know tests, homework, going to class sucks, but it aint that bad. It's kinda tough to just skip work, or have spring break, christmas break and all the other holidays you have with a real job.

I think he was beign sacrastic. I was gunna post something about that. Its definately not easier and at times it down right stinks! But I kinda jumped in with 2 feet after college, getting married buying a house and then kids all within 2 years!

Back on subject somewhat. I drove the cruiser around the block as stated in my other thread. Got my ford Shock towers ordered(will eb here Mon.) and also ordered 2 of my 4 shocks (got them used of mud) Looking good so far, hopefully get the strarting problem fixed and all this other stuff and be ready to go!!!!

yeah sorry guys that was sarcasim for sure :D, trust me I know how good I have it now  the only down side to college is being broke all the time.....
