What if instead of having someone who held this position all year that we do this on an event by event basis? That way no one person has to do this all year. With JP being out of state we will all need to step up on keeping the events rolling on. And what better way to keep everyone involved if we all do a little planning here and there.

Thoughts.

I'm pretty sure Alex has stepped up to the plate to help with the pool tournament this year. Thank you Alex.

I think that is a good idea marshall........... I think having different people planning an event will bring more diversity to the rides instead of us doing the same old runs. There are tons of great areas to be explored in the tri-state area. I know the Georgia section of our club has a great deal of trails to offer that would be new to us and the same with the NC guys. We just need volunteers!!!!

I'm sure we could arrange for a weekend of riding in Dawsonville, where the GA Cruisers had their annual event. It will cost a bit of $$, but not nearly as much as the cabin. And there are gravel trailer sites, grassy campsites and a small covered pavilion area. Dan has the owner's contact info, as he recently held a Beginner Off Road Course at this property (AKA, do what I say, not what I do--he he hee).

Roughly $30 per vehicle, per day, includes camping sites, access to pavilion, grill, etc. and the trails. Not an expansive trail system, but all are close by the camping areas.

I would need to get permission prior to ensure that it would be okay, and a firm, committed count with money in hand.

I think rotating the position for a while would be a good idea as well. It might require deciding on the event a little earlier to give the event planner more time to get things together. So how will it work. Will you pick someone from the group that is planning on attending the event? I think that would probably be the best way to go. I would be glad to help with any URE events. Until Stacy and I get a way to tow the 40 to Tellico and Cullowee, I doubt we take the 40 out there.
