Hi,

So I had some major electrical issues in my 1999 Land Cruiser (4.7l gas)... Gave up troubleshooting and took it to a mechanic, seems the entire underhood relay/fuse box needs to be replaced (multple problems with it, not just the fuel pump relay issue that's common) ... Not sure what happened but it took out my ECU, 140amp main fuse(fusable link), battery and possibly some other stuff.

Anyway, he said the part number I need is 82720-60022 ... According to a Toyota parts website I found that is for a 1998-2000 | 8 Cyl 4.7L | 2UZFE; 2UZFE; UZJ100

I found a good deal on a slightly different part number - 82720-60020 ... Same Toyota parts website says its for 1998-1999 | 8 Cyl 4.7L | 2UZFE; 2UZFE; UZJ100

Looks the same and according to this description it sounds like it should work... Is there any reason I can't use this? Would save me a fair amount of money, and because of the virus I'm super broke right now.

I'd appreciate some input before I push the buy button! Thanks! :)

I can't comment to the differences, but this shows the build dates for each.

Difference may be rear air. Using www.partsouq.com and a 98 & 99 VIN #, I have come up with different numbers. They included more or less components and the lids, depending on which page I look. But in each case auto rear air changes the last digit.

Make sure you know what caused this and correct, or may happen again. First thing comes to mind is jumping the battery to or from another vehicle shorting (negative on positive) and connecting directly to negative terminal rather than metal ground point like engine. This usually takes out alternator, but!

Were you able to find a quality resource for this part? I'm starting my search just now. Same situation.

Hiya Pal. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? i have a japanese import 2000, vx, v8 lc my search brought back that it is 82677-60011 or -60010! its a minefield!

Ok, resurrecting this thread...for a friend ...

Anyone, by chance, know what the difference is between 82720-60022 and 82720-60023 and whether or not the -60023 variant can be used in the friend's 1999 UZJ100 (since -60022 has been so politely discontinued by GM-Toyota USA...and -60023 is still showing new availability).

Thank You!

One more Q: After you installed the new fuse box assembly, did you opt to run the bypass kit & relay or no? Seems prudent to run it with larger AWG, etc., to cut down on heat effect...dunno.

@spressomon
I did not. I figured the old one lasted 23 years and I could live with that. But it turned out it wasn't even the problem.
I had been chasing a "Crank/NoStart" issue and it turned out to be the fuel pump 🤣

Sidenote: One of the cool things about buying the new Block Assembly (OEM/New) is that it comes with new fuses and relays
I think the only ones that don't come with it are the ABS relays.

Hey All,

New to the group. I recently had the same fuel pump issue with my LX470. Local mechanic shop installed a new fuel pump and the 20A fuse kept blowing after installation. They completed the temporary fix seen in the pic which will hopefully work, but they told me I needed a new fuse box. My LX is the early 99 and requires the 82720-60022 part number. I can't find a new or used one anywhere and just wanted to confirm the 60023 is interchangeable with my year model before I spend the money. When I spoke to Lexus dealer they couldn't determine if the part numbers were interchangeable. I do have rear air if that makes a difference.

Appreciate any assistance.

Going through the same scenario right now! Per @Trapper50cal I ordered, installed and can confirm the 60023 variant is identical to the original fuse box I just removed from my '99 w/rear AC.

Even after the new fuse box, its still blowing the 20A fuse apart of the relay bypass kit...before the starter is engaged. More to follow...

FWIW, I purchased mine from japan-hideboo on eBay: 【NEW】Toyota Genuine Lexus LX470 BLOCK ASSY ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION 82720-60023 | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/205122899505
It came with all fuses and relays EXCEPT: The EFI relay and the 3-ABS relays (which are a PITA to remove from the original fuse box).

HTH.
