Hello, I need help with the wiring diagram of this ECM from a 98' LX470. Specifically I need to find Knock sensor bank 1 KNK1 and Knock sensor bank 2 KNK2 wire. I've searched around manuals online but to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the “Resources” tab in the ih8mud page header. Download “1998 Land Cruiser EWD (EWD339U)” it’s currently near the top of the first page. Look in the “ENGINE CONTROL AND IMMOBILISER SYSTEM” section starting on page 74.

Does region change the wiring colours? says on the manual that it should be a white and black wire but I don't see any black or white wire from my wiring harness

It might. Only Toyota knows...but I doubt it.

When you say white and black, do you mean black with a white tracer, or white with a black tracer, or solid black, or white? There's a black wire with a white tracer in the connector housing that's still plugged into the ECM, in your photo. It's pretty hard to miss.

The pic may be fooling me but it looks like a several black/white wires in and near the plug still plugged into the ECM at top.

upon checking each connector to the ECM, there's multiple black and white wires in the center of the connector not visible which wire would be for the knock sensor 1 and knock sensor 2?

Yep, and that’s definitely the right place to look.

A quick walkthrough for the OP on how to use the Electrical Wiring Diagram to locate the wires:

1) On page 78 the white knock sensor wire is labeled 17 A KNKR (with the “A” inside a circle), the black knock sensor wire is labeled 18 A IGSW. So the two knock sensor wires connect to the ECU at pins 17 and 18 of connector “A” of the ECU.

The ECU is marked E5 A, E6 B, E8 D, E9 E, which means that connector “A” has connector ID E5.

To find where E5 is located go to the end of the section and look at the parts location table (page 82) which says for E5 A look at page 38. On page 38 the E5 reference points to the top connector on the ECU.

To find the pin locations go to the end of the section and find the connector drawing for E5 (A) (page 84) which shows that pins 17 and 18 are near the center of the connector.

Team work. You've fed this guy for a lifetime.

Thank you, budget is running low for me and engine was not running properly cause of a P0325 knock sensor 1 issue. Did the bypass and car is now revving up to 5k rpm. will undo the bypass once I get the wiring and the knock sensor replaced.
